Amazing machine! All the bells and whistles!
Amazing machine!! Embroidery works great. Took a few tries to get the embroidery to show. For some reason it was pulling the bobbin thread. I rethreaded it a couple of times and ran some tests on scrap fabric and finally it worked beautifully and embroidered perfectly. Maybe it just needed to work the kinks out on its own. Sewing is so much easier with all the bells and whistles like automatic threader, thread cut (with a push of a button!), speed control, and so much more. Don’t buy into the hype that beginners should purchase a no frills machine. I wasted so much money that way. Thank goodness Amazon is wonderful with returns and just great deals on great machines. I am better at sewing with a machine that has speed control, proper thread cutting that is automatic, and an automatic threader. My first machine was great but no speed control and I ruined so many projects by pushing too hard on the pedal. I realized very quickly that was a luxury that was necessary for me. I drive with a lead foot and using a sewing machine proved to be different ha ha. This was the only machine I could find that had the automatic threader AND thread cutter. Such a wonderful option. I love this machine so much, I want to buy another one and keep one set up for embroidery and the other for sewing. Pipe dream of course because money doesn’t grow on trees and all lol. It is that good though. This is my fifth machine in six months so that speaks volumes. I started with a refurbished Brother that was basic and no frills and for someone who is good at sewing, that is all they needed. But I didn’t do well on it and almost gave up sewing. Then I decided to try another and upgraded three times until I got to this one. No other machine compared to how great this one is. Brother machines are just great but this one really checks all the boxes and even better for a beginner like me who needs things to be fool proof. The only other machines with the bells and whistles of this machine are Janome machines and ones that cost close to a grand. This is half that and includes embroidery. Save some money, ask for gift cards for Amazon for your birthday and Mother’s Day and buy this machine for yourself. You will be so happy you did. You won’t save money buying basic models just to be super disappointed and have buyers remorse. Go for this instead first time around and you will be so happy you did. You won’t outgrow it at all.

This machine exceeded my expectations for an entry-level machine.
I had high ambitions to buy a much more expensive machine but just couldn't afford it. I settled on this machine and thought the embroidery function would be nice to have. I was absolutely blown away by the quality of this little machine. I use mine for mini quilts, mending clothes, and miscellaneous sewing. I have dabbled with the embroidery functions but I'm still learning that. Compared to my Singer machine from 20 years ago, holy cow. This machine is by far superior. Yes, I know, I'm comparing it to a much older machine but it was "entry level" as well. I absolutely love the speed control, needle down option, automatic needle threader, and the ability to automatically cut the thread. This machine has handled everything I've thrown at it without any issues. I was thoroughly impressed with the motor and how well this little machine handles thick quilt sandwiches. I'm not sure but I believe it has a separate motor for the bobbin winder? Don't quote me on that, maybe double check that but it sounds like it does. Brother thought of everything when designing this machine, down to even the bobbin winder having a thread holder/cutter. The drop in bobbin setup is awesome because it cuts the thread to the proper length it needs. The screen is crisp and easy to read. I performed a software update and it went flawlessly. I really like that they have you download it to a USB thumb drive then install from there. Less of a chance to brick the machine with a bad software update if your wifi drops. The screen is also very responsive to touch and everything is easy to find. The embroider function and available designs out of the box are pretty neat. You can also use the Artspira app to add more designs and transfer them over wifi to your machine. Very cool! You can even transfer your own designs you make or purchase from other shops into the app to transfer them to the machine. Of course you can also just use a USB thumb drive to load designs onto the machine if you'd like. This machine is amazing and I hope to get many years of use out of it. My only complaint is the throat space. Obviously you're not going to be making huge quilts with this machine unless you really like trying to squeeze huge rolls of fabric through the small throat space. You could probably get away with making throw quilts but don't expect this to fully accommodate sewing a king-size quilt obviously. All in all, I fully recommend this machine to anyone. If you're a beginner, it is super beginner friendly.

Beginner friendly
I love it so far! I’m a total beginner, so I was worried it might be confusing, but it’s actually really easy to use and set up. The stitches come out nice and smooth, and everything feels pretty straightforward. I was especially excited about the embroidery feature, and it’s honestly so fun to use — way easier than I expected. Definitely a great machine if you’re just starting out.

So far fantastic!
Okay first off this box was HUGE! I was not expecting it to be so large! Thankfully most of the bulk was styrofoam packing and the actual sewing machine isn’t very heavy so I was able to move it around myself, My experience with this machine so far has been fantastic and I am so happy I purchased this one over the others! I was using a similar model before this and my experience with this brand so far has been that even beginners can learn fairly quickly! Within less than a year into my sewing journey I am completing multiple projects a day confidently and have learned so much just from experience with the machine! I have only used my new machine for a few weeks so far but it has ran incredibly smooth with no snapping or knotting and minimal noise. I debated back and forth for awhile on if I wanted to get this model or go for a cheaper sewing only option however I am so glad I went with this version and am so excited to start embroidering things as well!! After getting comfortable and adjusting to this particular machine I think it’s a great starter option for the quality/price

genuinely worth the money if you are willing to learn!! I LOVE THIS THING FR
i ADORE THIS MACHINE!! a lot of reviews scared me but i am so glad i got this!! its perfect for a first timer & for a hobbiest!! i make stuff for friends & sell a few things here & there. all the designs on etsy ive bought have transferred almost seamlessly (it’s a bit of trial & error at first but then it’s perfectly smooth)!! a few needles broke but i bought specific embroidery needles i read about in another review that’s a 4 star & they have been great!! a big thing is tension when it comes to needle breaks, adjust the tension & if the machine sounds like it’s working too hard i just let it pause for a second & then resume the project!! it’s literally such a good machine & worth every penny to me!! i love that it’s compatible to the app & that’s how i upload designs from my ipad. it’s not super loud which i also love & it’s so easy to navigate & switch out the attachments for sewing & embroidery. it does take some trial & error but it isn’t super hard to figure out especially with access to youtube & the free artspira app, they have a bunch of tutorials & educational videos to watch. essentially i’m in love with this machine!! game changer & my new favorite thing in our house!! buy this product!! it’s WONDERFUL!!

Received broken, no one wants to help.
I am writing this review with immense disappointment and frustration regarding my recent experience with the Brother sewing machine I purchased in April 2023. Due to some unexpected family emergencies, I was unable to unbox the machine until August 2023, at which point my troubles began. Upon attempting to use the sewing machine, I encountered a critical issue – the needle broke on my very first attempt. After investigating further, it became evident that the presser foot holder was crooked and bent, rendering the machine unusable. I was shocked and dismayed by the poor craftsmanship of the product. Seeking assistance, I promptly reached out to Brother's customer service, hoping they would address the defect in their product. Unfortunately, my hopes were quickly dashed as I encountered an unhelpful and indifferent attitude from their representatives. To my disbelief, they not only refused to provide assistance but directed me to a sewing machine retailer for resolution. The situation only worsened when I approached the recommended retailer with the hopes of getting the warranty honored and obtaining a replacement part. Regrettably, their response mirrored Brother's, as they outright dismissed my concerns and refused to honor the warranty for a product that had a glaring manufacturing defect. Their solution? "You have a warranty, ship it back!". Contacted Brother again only to get the same response as before. This lack of accountability and customer support was utterly disheartening. Seeing no other option, I escalated the matter to Amazon, the platform through which I had made the purchase. I anticipated that Amazon's renowned customer service would come to my rescue, but to my astonishment, I was met with a similar level of apathy. They, too, were unresponsive to my plea for assistance and failed to uphold the integrity of the transaction. It is profoundly disappointing that in a situation where all I needed was a single replacement part to rectify a manufacturing flaw, I have been met with a wall of indifference and non-cooperation. This entire experience has been incredibly frustrating, time-consuming, and emotionally draining. I entrusted my hard-earned money to Brother, the sewing machine retailer, and Amazon, only to be left high and dry with a defective product and no avenue for resolution. I strongly caution anyone considering purchasing a Brother sewing machine based on my nightmarish experience. Not only is the product quality questionable, but the abysmal customer service provided by both Brother and the involved retailers is inexcusable. As a consumer, I deserve better treatment and support, and I hope my review serves as a warning to others about the potential pitfalls of dealing with these companies.

Better sewing machine than embodery but still a really good machine
So I've had this machine for over a year and finally writing a review. I am a self taught when it comes to sewing but I have done a lot of things. This is my 3rd sewing machine because I really wanted to ability to embroider but I thought my other machine was just fine, it was on the nicer side of options at the time but that cant even compair to this one. I love the easy touch screen setting and easy bobbin acess and rethreading. I personally dont use the needle self threading because I had a hard time trying to get it to work, so I just rethread it myself (proably my only major issue with this machine). So great for sewing honestly. Now the embroidery element is just fine, it works well and I've created my own patterns but it definitely cant do anything extremely fancy in my experience (maybe its a skill issue) but it does a fine enough job that I still love it and its good enough for the price. So if you want this for embodery only, its a fine choice but honestly the sewing element is definitely what makes it worth the price.

Great for Beginners & Intermediate Sewists
I'm relatively new to sewing and wanted to learn how to personalize our blankets/towels with embroidery. I bought the SE700 because I loved my SE600 so much (I'm only replacing the 600 with this model because my old machine fell off of the table and messed up the alignment and walking foot contraption. Pros: it's heavy duty, threads itself with a lever pull, does embroidery AND sewing fairly easily, and is ideal for people like me who are learning the craft at a beginner level. Seriously, the power of the embroidery feature is so fun that I jokingly tell people I want to embroider toilet paper now. Cons: artspira (the brother embroidery app) is not as awesome as the machine itself. It takes easily 3-4 tries with each item before I can get the embroidery feature to work in the way I want it to. I finally found moderate success by removing the background in one app before uploading the chosen image to Artspira. It's disappointing that the 4x4" design space limits my projects as much as it does. I don't know if I'd pay the extra $3-400 for a larger embroidery space, but if I keep up the current pace with my projects I may have to set some money aside to invest in a sewing machine with a 5x7" space to embroider. The machine's threading feature can take a few attempts depending on how finicky it is that day. Unsolicited advice: get the most out of this machine by ordering a magnetic embroidery hoops & a sturdy walking foot. The magnetic hoop made going from project to project EASY & it feels like cheating because I can embroider my proverbial toilet paper with a pull of a lever and a touch of the green button. That's it. The addition of the after market walking foot solved the problem of projects going crooked as it sews, resulting in items that had hems all over the place.
