Great petri dishes for biology experiments
We homeschool and I've had three of my kids now go through high school biology with our local co-op. Two of them have done lab report projects having to do with bacteria. One was testing different cleaners against raw chicken, and the other was testing the 5 second rule with different surfaces. These petri dishes have been great to grow our results. What I have done for incubation is set them in a Styrofoam cooler on it's side and have it near a space heater. The heater did not run constantly, but it was enough to allow the colonies to grow. Both times ordering, nothing came damaged or contaminated. I would trust it again.

These seem to work great.
I use these to do mold testing. You can open them up in an area for thirty minutes, close, then seal with tape around them and see what grows. More than 5-6 small spots of mold after two days is supposedly an indicator of high mold levels in your house. They also come with sterile swabs that you can wipe on surfaces, then on the media in the petri dish and see what mold and or bacteria grows.

Awesome science fair project
Bought this for my sons 5th grade science fair project. It was AWESOME! It was pretty easy for my 5th grader to use (with parental supervision and assistance). He used it to check the dirtiest things in his room. The conclusion was the dirty clothes basket and he took first place in his class science fair. The instructions were clear and easy to understand.

Grade appropriate
This product was really great for my daughter’s 7th grade science project. It hit all the important points, type of agar, clear instructions and tips, the plates were clean and clear. The only problem we had was that one plate had a deformation in the plastic lid; it was bowed in and the seal between the plates was compromised. Luckily we really needed 9.

Easy to use
My daughter loved swabbing all kinds of things around the house to see where the most bacteria grew. The dishes worked well, even when she accidentally broke through the top layer with her swab. If you have a child who likes science, it's a simple but fun experiment.

Fantastic
We homeschool and are studying bacteria. This was amazing and grew all kinds of things. We learned the toilet (before a cleaning), the bottom of a croc shoe (we live on a farm), and the dog bowl grew the most nasty bacteria. Second in line was a library book! Ewwwwwww. Would purchase again!

Complete Waste of Money
The dishes come in a single stack, all wrapped together, but the lids are not secured onto the bottoms. As soon as you unwrap them the lids start falling off. IF they were sterile before, they immediately become contaminated. I say "if" because I don't know how they could be sterilized. The dishes are made of cheap plastic that looks like plain acrylic like any ordinary small plastic box. I took the ones that had the lids fall of and ran them through sterilization and, as I expected, I ended up with a shrunken, twisted mass of melted plastic. I threw all of them out. Go ahead and spend the money for good GLASS petri dishes. If you buy these you might as well just set your money on fire.

Good product
I ordered this for my daughter's science fair project, it's a really neat little kit. It worked well, I would definitely order again. The instructions were easy to follow and the results were perfect for her experiment.
