It's a RAPALA!
I have numerous Rapala lures in different makes, sizes, and colors. I use the larger lures for both fresh and saltwater fishing. They'e effective on Red Drum, Speckled Trout, Largemouth Bass, and yes - even catfish. Rapala lures last a very long time with very little maintenance. Just rinse and dry after use. Replace or sharpen any dull hooks every few years, and you'll be good to go. Great product!

Fantastic lure from yesteryear.
A steady retrieve usually works best unless you're using this as a topwater lure. As a topwater lure you can make it act like a dying minnow. Have caught some of my largest fish using jointed Rapalas. This is really a specialty lure where you want to work in shallow water with lots of snags about a foot deep. In many cases that is right where the fish are. Just match the Rapala size to the fish your trying to catch. I have 5 sizes.

I've found on some of the bigger walleye I catch the bill will fall out and the hooks brake. But they work great for a few fish
