Question 1

Couldn’t I just add the positive and negative into the power supply unit instead of the mainboard? I feel like that makes more sense and is easier.

Yes. I wish I had done that. Much easier than connecting to the control board. The instructions have you connect the LED power directly to the power in terminals on the control board. Same thing as connecting to the power out terminals on the PSU.

Can this be installed without a dual z-axis mainboard?

I installed this kit on my Ender 3 pro a couple of months ago. Installation was straight forward. The original z axis cable is replaced with a cable that is split,  single main board  connector and 2 z motor connectors. I had upgraded the main board a few months before this  to a 4.2.7. When updating the bios,there was none that stipulated dual z axis. I think the split  cable is the key.

Will light fit the Ender-3 S1 model?

Not sure if it will fit the Ender-3 S1.  However, if the S1 is the same build volume and dimensions as the 3 Pro, I don't see why it wouldn't.  I would try to check the dimensions of the top cross bar. This is where the light bar attaches.

Question 4

Is there any fix to the led light flickering when the printer is running. there is no issue when nothing is being printed but when printing it starts

I would check and verify your power supply is running on the properly setting, IE: 110 vs 220.  Sounds like you are running 220 within a 110 environment.
