Is this matcha powder included in the set or do I need to buy it separately?

Please note: matcha powder is not included in this set and is available for purchase separately. We recommend our Teahouse Edition Ceremonial Grade Matcha for traditional matcha tea.

What size is the stoneware bowl and will it hold enough matcha tea for a standard serving?

The stoneware chawan measures approximately 5 inches in diameter with an 18 fl oz capacity — perfectly sized for a traditional single-serve ceremonial preparation of 6–8 oz usucha or koicha.

Are the bamboo whisk and scoop food-safe and sustainably sourced?

The bamboo chasen and chashaku are crafted from food-safe, sustainably harvested bamboo, free from synthetic dyes or chemical treatments. Hand rinse under warm water after each use, no soap or dishwasher.

How durable is the bamboo whisk and how long does it typically last with regular use?

With proper care — rinsing immediately after use and storing on the included whisk holder — a quality bamboo chasen typically lasts 3–6 months, or longer, with daily use.

Does the stainless steel sifter help remove lumps from the matcha powder effectively?

The fine-mesh stainless-steel sifter breaks up clumps before they form, ensuring a silky-smooth, lump-free matcha every time — a step professional tea masters never skip.
