If the noise I am trying to filter is coming from my load should I wire it up backwards?

I think you should not reverse the wiring, that is, I'd hook it up as it was designed to be installed. It should suppress electrical noise equally well in both directions. Having said that, if you have a piece of electrical equipment you think is causing noise being picked up by other equipment, it may not be being transmitted via the power connection -- it could be transmitted through the air to the power cables of the other equipment, for example, in which case this filter won't help -- you may need to put the filter on the equipment picking up the noise, instead!
