Does it work in cold weather?

yes but you have to have to put automatic transmition fluid in it as direections tell you works in 20 degree weather then works around 40 degrees with fluid that comes in it

It comes with fluid already in it. The manual tells you what and how much to buy and how to check when to add more.

Ive never owned a electric log splitter ive only had a mual all my life is it really worth the investment ?

i would not be with out it the wen is the only electric one i ever owned it is amazing what it can split 6.5 ton great splitter

Can a Honda 3000 generator run it?

Probably. It has a 1500 watt motor, Rule of Thumb says add 50% for starting surge = 2250 watt min generator. My Honda EU2000 will NOT start/run it.
