Review: Doesn’t work in India - The Roku only works in US, Canada, UK, Ireland etc - not in India. So in India, very limited functionality exists - cannot download most channels including desertcart Prime Video or Disney Plus. The search function doesn’t work in India. Overall it’s barely functioning. Do not buy - anything else would work better in India. —- Edit: I had already given this one star, so can’t lower the rating further… Yesterday, we had an internet outage (Airtel broadband in my area is awful). What was surprising was that after the internet came back and we tried to use the Roku, it had logged itself out from the WiFi - had to log into the WiFi again. And then upon opening Netflix, that was also logged out… Crazy - it seems the device resets its settings on Internet errors. I can only imagine how painful it would be to keep logging in again and again every time the internet dies… Oh, and you can’t return the thing.

**Q: Is the remote infrared or wireless?**
A: Hello! The included voice remote is wireless, using RF technology to control the actions without pointing the remote directly at the player.

**Q: can i watch you tube tv with this device?**
A: Hello! At this time, YouTube TV can be accessed within the YouTube channel on your Roku player. Start by going to the YouTube channel on your Roku; press the left arrow on your Roku remote to open the left-hand side menu for YouTube. Then scroll down to the bottom of the menu and you'll see YouTube TV.

**Q: Is peacock and discovery+ pre installed? if not, can you add apps?  i know other models cannot be download apps.  thanks**
A: Apps are not pre-installed. You can install them once you locate what you want from the Roku store.

**Q: Can this 4k stick be used on a hisense roku tv?**
A: Why, because the HiSense Roku TV will send ALL your private data back to a data broker whether you like it or not. This will not happen with a Roku streaming device as it only knows about the specific programs that you watch over the device itself. The streamer's HDMI connection does not have the ability to interrogate the TV itself. It can only pass video and audio to the TV.

In order to gain this privacy protection, you must disconnect the TV itself from the Internet. That means having nothing connected to the RJ45 Ethernet jack (if present), and WiFi must also be disabled in the TV settings. 

An Ethernet connection is required for setup. Once the TV itself is setup, you can proceed with the Roku only configuration.

The Roku only works in US, Canada, UK, Ireland etc - not in India. So in India, very limited functionality exists - cannot download most channels including Amazon Prime Video or Disney Plus. The search function doesn’t work in India. Overall it’s barely functioning. I called up the customer service center of Roku and they told me that this product is not supposed to work in India. Why are they even selling it in India if it is not configured to work here?
