Is it a different type of file - perhaps the bit rate is too high or it's a unsupported type of lossless file? The 'Update' option in the menu is simply to update the file list stored on the Micro SD card. If you search on the Internet for 'Mp3tag software' you should be able to find free software which will allow you to edit the tags on your music files. They also work on FLAC files even though they are often named 'mp3'. Obviously any editing is best done on a PC or Mac before you transfer the files to your SD card. Same applies if you're having trouble displaying album art - have a look for software which using recognised art databases and edit.
