I bought this to Install on a Tucson 2014 to be used with an e-bike bike rack I also bought. Some of the prep I did was (and this may not be necessary but it worked for me...) to back up on some small wooden ramps I screwed together with a bunch of 2x10's ( only about 3 " lift but it's all I needed) and put down a 4x6 piece of old carpet to work on. ( I'm getting old) I had read that the mounting holes may need to be cleaned out so I bought a few nylon brushes (various sizes that I installed in the chuck of a drill) to do a preliminary clean and a Tap to do a re-thread and final cleanout. Once I was sure the supplied bolts inserted smoothly I held the hitch up to see what I was up against. Using a 12x12 mirror-tile I had around I looked to see how the heck I was going to get this thing around the muffler without taking it off. I started to raise the passenger side with a carboard box to prop it up on and then the Drivers side with a box & scraps of wood. And sure enough it squeaked by with no problem. I was expecting to need some assistance but when I saw that everything perfectly lined up I installed the screws and Torqued them down. Job done ! It looks well made and although I might have been able to get it a bit cheaper elsewhere, I went with this for the Fast Delivery and the ability to return if things went wrong.

I purchased a 2011 Kia Sportage 2 weeks ago and needed to be able to pull a boat. I ordered this on Sunday, it arrived on Thursday, and i installed on Friday. It took me roughly 15 minutes to install by myself. I have no mechanical experience at all, and I had no problems doing this by myself. A second set of hands would always be useful, but i used a standard car jack to hold this in place while i screwed in the bolts. I started on the passenger side first, got one bolt started, then went to the drivers side and started a bolt. Returned to passenger side and tightened both bolts completely, then did the same for the drivers side. NICE AND SIMPLE. There is more than plenty of room under the vehicle to do this project.

I put this hitch on a 2012 Kia Sportage EX AWD vehicle. I was very impressed with the quality of the powder coated finish- it really looked high quality. As far as the installation, I did it alone, and it's a little awkward until you get the first bolt in one side, but it really is pretty freakin easy. It took me around 15mins. One thing that was handy was I used a Digital Torque Wrench Adapter I bought from Harbor Freight (<$30) to torque the bolts down to the perfect tightness. You put it on a regular old socket wrench and it converts it to a torque wrench. The instructions tell you how tight to torque the bolts so it was kinda nice knowing I got it on perfectly. It really was quite simple to put on- the bottom of the Kia is pretty easily accessible. As far as appearance, the only thing visible is the 2 in receiver box- the rest of the hitch is completely concealed! No ugly hitch dangling below the back end, which is the way MANY other aftermarket hitches appear. If you want a hitch on your 2012 Kia Sportage, this is definately the one to get. I think the price is a steal too.
