She is one of those dogs with a broad chest and small waist and neck. Her neck is in the "small" range but her chest is in the "medium" range on the size chart so I went with medium. It fits well except, of course, the neck is a bit loose even fully tightened but is not that detrimental to the fit. The chest part is fine. She seems comfortable wearing it even when I sometimes leave it on her most of the day. Once you get the hang of putting it on, it goes on in seconds. She pulls a lot and only chokes now and then when she won't give up like when she sees a squirrel. Overall, it is the favorite of three harnesses I have for her. It does irritate her neck if I leave it on, but that is probably to her hairless neck and not the harness. The supplier put too much faith in the US postal service and it took almost two weeks to be delivered. Other than that, the supplier was responsive and polite when notified of the problem.
