These small T-tap wire splicers are an excellent solution for splicing in wire pairs (12 volts or less) where there is a small confined area to work with. I spliced into the Lane Change Assist/LKAS Module on my 2013 Honda Accord EX-L sedan. I tapped the 12volt circuit to install a 3 Ports 12V RV USB Outlet adapter as a 5volt power source for my dash cams. Simply place wires into tap wedges and close top section and crimp down closing cap with a pair of pliers. These T-tap splicers made the project quick, easy, and successful. I highly recommend these T-tap splice connectors for such 12v automotive projects.

These work (when installed correctly), and they are actually not that difficult to "undo" if you screw things up (which I did). You just need a small flathead screwdriver and a little patience to release the tabs that hold the tap in place on the wire. AND the connectors actually have little diagrams on them that show the relationship between the connectors on the bottom of the "T" and the wires going through the top of the "T". BUT it's making the connection to the wires going through the top of the "T" that caused me heartburn at first. I needed a quick way to deploy some 12V DC LED lights in a space where we were selling pottery. My first attempt "live" failed because looking at the pictures it was easy to assume "just clamp these down on this wire pair to create a t-connection", and I didn't have time to do a quick test run at home before we went to the show. When I got back home and did a little test harness, I realized that if you are using a roll of bonded red / black wire (like is frequently suggested for use with these connectors), you need to carefully split the two wires with a utility knife or razor by about an inch or so where you want to insert the "T". You need to do this so that there is enough room for the wire to seat cleanly in the channels of the "T" connector, and therefore allow the teeth to readily pierce the sheathing on each wire to make a good connection. Three weekends in a covered (but not fully enclosed) space, running lights for 7 - 8 hours a day straight, no failures. Just need to know the trick for getting the connector to make a good connection.

Good product at a reasonable price.

So, this product did not work for my application (automotive). It had one job -to tap into the speaker wires and it just couldn't after many attempts. It works fine on the feed wires, which have a thicker, softer coating, but on the factory wires, the coating is harder and thinner, and despite nicking the wires -no connection. So after 3 hours of frustration, I'm returning these.

These have been extremely convenient with splicing into wires without cutting. I've used them for many things and have not had any come loose after properly connecting them. Sometimes they are pain to get clipped closed all the way but it feels like a very secure connection.

Love how much time these Low Voltage T-Tap Wire Connectors saved me on my latest LED project.
