As someone with thick wavy hair, these clips stay much better in place. The side prongs provide extra hold. Unlike other reviews, I haven't had them break. You can always spray them with hairspray and let them dry for extra hold as well.The prongs can be a bit fragile, but as long as you're careful and don't put too much pressure on them, they should hold. The metal is the same as you'll find with the average hair clip - nothing special, just fine. I wish they came in a dark brown color to match my hair, but the colors are fine.
