I have heard a lot of complains about extreme drop in fuel efficiency after switching to these tires, does anyone know why is that happening?

Any new tire will increase the rolling resistance and hit your MPG. The aggressive tread on these is grippier and may impact your MPG more than others. In return you get the best all-weather ever made. 10% MPG hit for us, but 100% peace of mind with little kiddos.
