I’m a electrician of 40 years and only use klein I buy 2 pairs a year I cut a lot of wires we do a lot of new homes and commercial work and even though they still work nothing is better than a fresh pair i keep older one’s for backup and cutting screws and sometimes live wires ( it happens! usually burns ⚡️a hole in them) and give some away to other contractors on the job it makes there day. I find Amazon always has the best prices so I keep a pair in my “save for later cart” and Amazon lets me know when they change in price

I bought these to replace a 20-year old pair of the 8" non-crimping version that I lost. I have been perfectly happy with the old ones and I have compared them (now I found them) and they appear to have come out of the same mold. I have cut steel wire, screws, nails and worse with them and there isn't even a small nick on the cutter edges. That's what makes the biggest difference between quality tools and cheap tools, the quality of the steel used and the hardness. I like that the cutter is wider than most other cutters I have used and it will cut through 12-4 MC cable easily. I have noticed many other reviewers have commented about the tip of the jaws not contacting each other or having a gap. The gap is intentional, the pliers are designed to be parallel at the most common wire thickness, usually 12 or 14 gauge, that way you can grip several wires at the same time and it will hold onto them all. They don't seem to have changed over the years and that is good, it's a good product and doesn't need to change, a little pricey but you get what you pay for! I love them!
