The shell is made with 100% Egyptian cotton. The comforter is soft and light, but thick. I own several silk comforters from other brands on Amazon, none of them can match the thickness of this one, which translates to more silk filling. The price is very reasonable because I've paid more for other brands that are thinner. I got the spring/autumn version, I think it'd be great for the winter. I live in San Francisco Bay Area, and I received my comforter in 10 days. It's much faster than the amazon estimate. The shipping location is SuZhou, which is where the most silk is produced in China for decades, I took that as a good sign. The only non standard part is the sizing, which I'm okay with. I use a flat sheet so it doesn't really matter.
