Dolce Flav Lime Extract, Oil-Soluble, 2 Oz

This is a quality oil. It has a nice scent and you can smell the flavor that it's lime, lemon, There some marked "oil" and they are water based. but this one is an oil that you can to flavor your chocolate that's like the cherry on top. They are all clesr in volor, and won't change the cokor of the chocolate. The cost is reasonable. My only unfavorable thing is every bottle is sticky on the oit side I've wiped several.flavors. The price definitely affordable for a larger quantity instead of thos time drama bottles

We picked up bottles of Lime Flavor Oil and Cheesecake Flavor by Dolce Foglia, and at first we were a bit lost. The bottles direct you to the Dolce Foglia website, but even once you're there getting straight, direct answers about proper ratios for things like making a straightforward flavored simple syrup are nowhere to be found. "It's subject to personal preference" was the initial response we got from customer service when we reached out to customer service the first time. Well, yeah, of course it is, but what's the starting ratio we should expect to need to use for a cup of simple syrup? "1-2 drops of lime oil per 1 cup of simple syrup mixture" Okay, now we're starting to get somewhere. That's a concrete answer that I can work with as a starting point. And yet, it wasn't correct. We found we had to add a LOT more drops than that to even come close to having the Lime flavor overcome the basic innate sugar taste of simple syrup. It wasn't until about drops 6-10 that a hint of lime even started to come through. At which point, it kind of became clear what the larger problem of this product is: unlike with vanilla extract which is a commonly used item in a lot of baking, Dolce Foglia doesn't seem to really know the potency of each of its individual flavors. 1-2 drops might be correct for another one of its flavors, but it absolutely wasn't the case for lime. While we finally did get to a point where we had a syrup with a strong, noticeable lime flavor, for a $15 bottle of flavoring, you have to use a lot to achieve a little, and honestly at that point we'd have been better off just buying some straight up lime juice and mixing it with the simple syrup instead. ***Dolce Foglia needs to do its homework*** Dolce Foglia's product DOES work, but they need to get a better handle on each of their flavors, the level of potency, and establish some recommended mixture ratios that are accurate and specific to each flavor. Expecting people to pay $15 for a bottle without knowing how much of that bottle they'll need to use every time they go to use it makes justifying the price against a much simpler version of that same flavor (like a fresh-squeezed lime or lime juice) a hard sell. ***But the results are quite tasty*** There is something here though. Once we got that lime-flavored simple syrup figured out we used it as both a waffle topping (which were cheesecake flavored thanks to Dolce Foglia's Cheesecake flavor) and as a snow cone flavor. (See the images above - the green coloration is from food dye, not the actual color of the flavor oil) The results in both cases were absolutely delicious. The lime flavor really is good, it's just a bit obnoxious how much of the bottle it can take to reach that point. ***Overall Value*** Until Dolce figures out proper ratios and potency for its lime oil, the $15 is a bit of a hard sell, and realistically the included dropper lid might not be the best way to dole out this flavor. It may well be a better option to view this as needed to be mixed at the teaspoon or half teaspoon level versus the "single drop" they like to claim.

This is the first ever flavored extract I have used, so I have no comparisons. It tastes like lime.

This is an excellent product to amp up your salad dressing without watering it down. Can be used with real fresh squeezed lime juice to add more lime flavor or alone with your olive oil. Tastes very real, not sweetened or fake or chemically. Highly recommend.

I mix a little in my cherry coke zero...tastes great! Works good in tinctures as well.

Good lime flavor doesn't overpower. Works well to make lime cokes and Cuba libras without actual limes. No off flavors for what I use it for.
