We wanted to add switches to a basic track oval and are new to model railroading, so just feeling our way along. I ordered a single switch and one switch controller along with 1 DC adapter to connect to our older non-Kato track controller. We found that the switch has a way of manually changing direction, so could use it manually even before we got the DC adapter. We learned a lot with the first switch and then ordered the rail yard switching set. We should have just gotten it first. It’s a great set and adds a lot of fun. It’s everything you need to expand the layout, with track, wiring, switch control for each one and buffers.

Kato N unitrack is a quality product. Easy to set up and take apart if needed. Track with attached roadbed looks good also. Quality N scale track that is easy to use for beginners and experienced modelers. Switching yard set adds interest and switch is easily controlled manually or with included remotes.

Normal Kato excellent quality. Well made and fully functional. I am mostly a Kato n-scale layout so this switch fully integrated with no problem. In fact, it was temporarily integrated into my layout the day I received it. Very happy with it.

This set lets you add a passing track and industrial siding or small yard. Everything you need is included to add on to your existing M1 or M2 set. The number 6 switches are power routed and work with either DC or DCC without modification, though some experts would recommend using insulated joiners on the turnouts especially if you have a 5A DCC system like an NCE ProCab system. I like the Power routing when running DC locomotives. Putting track together is literally a snap. I love Unitrack for it ease in prototyping a layout. Trying different track combinations is easy and fun. Great for starting out or even advanced model railroading. As a guy that likes to run trains, Unitrack enables me to get to the fun part quickly. I have three of these V3 sets.

Very nice addition to a Kato starter set. Turn outs work smoothly

This set easily adds a yard to any existing layout. With a little creativity, you can fit it inside or outside a loop. As long as you have at least one extra #6 right turnout, you can flip this yard to branch to the right instead of the left, otherwise you must use it as shown in the illustration to get the full 3 tracks. The only slight negative is that the buffer stops will cause derailments if you actually hit them. So they keep the cars from going off the end, at the expense of sending them off the side. This is worse with very light cars, and cars with truck-mounted couplers, like the cars in the Kato starter sets. Upgrades to consider: Extension wires for the electric control, an extra right #6 turnout so you can flip the yard to the other side, and magnetic decouplers (not amazing with Kato couplers, but very good with Micro-Trains couplers).

Received unopened and in as new condition. Available for purchase from AMAZON USA despite shortages in supply from UK model shops. Fast delivery in four days but paid a small premium for that service. Excellent.

This is one of the must get addon sets. The addition of these addons is always a help with your layout. With these turnouts you can set up you first train yard, then watch it grow.

Great piece of kit for sidings. As always fantastic delivery to France, 5 days and no duty, TVA or additional postal charges to worry about.
