Solid Design
All good, this is a solid tripod head. I've tested it using large heavy astronomy binoculars and light weight long spotting scopes. Tightens securely, rotates smoothly. Good quality machining, matte finish is smooth and even. Knobs are well made, tighten evenly, not slippy or needing to be constantly retightened and loosen easily for repositioning. Their position on the head makes them easy to access, easy to use without fumbling. Texture is easy to feel, gives good grip with bare hands and gloves. How long will it last? For my uses, it may be the last tripod head I have to purchase ...it's a pleasure to use and no regrets on the purchase. There are probably better ones intended for higher end users and demanding professionals but for a 'hobbyist' it works just fine and fulfills my needs for utility, quality and price. Caveat, get a good sturdy tripod, not some flimsy light weight aluminum stand intended for indoor use and light weight camera formats and this tripod head will really shine. If it was lost, I would buy it again. I do not think it will break with normal use and should last indefinitely with care and regular cleaning which will amount to wiping off dirt and dust and making sure the ball is clean, taking care to keep it clean.

Pleasantly Surprised!
When I ordered this ball head there were no reviews or ratings for it... zero. So I contacted the seller and asked a few important questions. The answers they gave me were outstanding so I purchased it. So far I really, really like it! The size of the ball is huge (slightly larger than 2 inches) and the way it holds my fully extended Tamron 150-600mm G2 lens at an angle is nothing short of amazing! In some of my pictures you'll see my camera and lens tilted upwards. I locked onto a pine cone and left it there. 20 minutes later it was still locked right on that pine cone. I was impressed. One of the other things I am enjoying about this ball head is that I can use it as a "gimbal." Again, you'll see this in one of my pictures. With the lens collar, ball head and pan knob loose, I can easily rotate my camera just as easily as my gimbal head and it weighs less!! So far I am extremely happy with this purchase and I'm certainly glad I took the chance. What really pushed me passed my uncertainty was when the seller told me that they have a FIVE YEAR quality guarantee!! This is practically unheard of anymore! So, I bought it. I've used it now several times and I'm still very happy with it. It is so sturdy that it has shown me that I really do need a better tripod for it!! Lol! As of now, I have no problems recommending it to my fellow photogs and clients. I will definitely update this review if anything should change.

Sturdy, smooth tracking, very large ball head, better than expected!
I bought this to use in conjunction with an arca swiss compatible rifle clamp & heavy duty Artcise carbon fiber tripod for a stable, but reasonably lightweight shooting rest at the blind. I’m also an amateur photographer so I thought it would be useful for when I’m using my large, Canon super telephoto lenses like my EF 500mm f/4L USM IS II. I was so impressed with the quality of the Artcise tripod that is in the picture, I thought it was a pretty safe bet that this ball head would be just as good. I wasn’t disappointed. I don’t think you’ll find a better ball head for the money and probably would have to spend 3 times as much to equal this one. I would buy it again without hesitation.

Only one minor flaw
Very sturdy. Only minus is you can’t set drag on the bases rotation. It has spots in its motion where it binds. Note, it’s ONLY if you want to have some resistance. Spinning freely works smoothly.
