Klark Teknik 76-KT Classic FET-Style Compressor with Class-A Line Level Amplifier and Midas Transformers

I got the Klark Teknik KT-76 some time ago for my personal music projects, and I’m really impressed. It’s easy to set up and use, and it gives my vocals and bass that classic punchy sound I was looking for. It also works great on percussion and powerful rock and blues-style vocals, really helping them cut through the mix. The controls feel intuitive, and I was able to dial in good results right away without spending too much time tweaking. For the price, it’s amazing value. The build quality feels solid, and it sounds way more expensive than it actually is. I’d love to buy another unit, but right now it can’t be shipped to my location — hopefully it becomes available again soon. If you have a home studio and want that classic 1176-style compression without breaking the bank, this unit is definitely worth it.

I have several 1176 in my studio and this one keeps up with the most expensive units. Download the specs on this, it's got amazing performance. I own six of these now and regularly use them in my studio - nobody knows when they hear my songs, they just sound good, very good. Good Music To You

This unit sounds great I have two for mastering chain

It only works on one channel. I ordered it because of really loud commercials on Alexa music. I've got to connect a stereo to mono cable to the input then a mono to stereo cable to my amplifier.

Love the compression. Low noise and transparent

My first unit had a horrible noise floor issue after 18db output. I did some forum digging and found many units seem to suffer from this but the ones that said they got a good unit loved it. So I decided I would try again. My second unit arrived completely DOA. My first thought was maybe the VU meter was simply broken as this was another common issue discussed on the forums. So I plugged it into my chain... Well that was a huge mistake. Seems like it was a complete wiring issue internally. Presenting insane amounts of feedback from the unit. Even the couple seconds it was in my chain made me fear it damaged one of the much more expensive/sensitive audio products it was interfacing with. I guess thats what I get for trying to go with a budget product. I am sure if you get a functional unit it will be lovely but for how long that lasts who knows. Build quality and QC don't seem to be a concern for this brand but if you get lucky you may just get the bang for your buck that your after. I myself wont be trying a third time and for those of you trying at all... May the odds ever be in your favor.

Le compresseur 76-KT fonctionne correctement. Cependant, le vu-metre n'était pas bien calibré par rapport à l'autre exemplaire que je possède déjà. Les potentiomètres sont un petit peu moins ferme aussi. Les autocollants argentés qu'il y a au sommet des potentiomètres étaient décollés à la livraison. Mais une fois le vu-metre calibré avec son jumeau, le compresseur fonctionne correctement et en parfaite coordination avec mon autre exemplaire. Par contre, j'ai remarqué sur les deux que les potars d'attaque et de relâchement sont pas hyper précis, il faut tendre l'oreille pour bien entendre les variations. C'est pour moi un compresseur qui évidemment n'égale pas son illustre ancêtre, mais malgré ça, pour un tel prix je trouve qu'il fait très largement le boulot. C'est un compresseur qui a un très bon rapport qualité-prix.

I love this guy, makes a really nice job on vocals, percussions, and acoustic guitars. FET compression with very fast attack is a must in the studio.
