It has not broken down, and I wear it every day for an hour while I walk my dogs. I do pick it up carefully and put it on - I try to always hold it with both hands, and I lay it down flat when I am not wearing it. I was concerned that it would not fit as snug as I wanted it to but it adjust very easily and I’ve been very happy especially for the price — The weight distributes very evenly and is so much more comfortable than lead weights bouncing on my chest or back like some of the vests I have used in the past. I haven’t had any problems with the material tearing or wearing down but I’ve only been using it for A month so far. I also have not started wearing it to run yet but I plan to next week and I’m confident it won’t be a problem. I will be ordering 20lbs vest soon. I hope that the 20lbs vest is actually 20lbs.My sons review is that “the vest is fine, works great.” That is a raving-est review you can get from a teen these days.But I, the mother, also used the vest so I could give a more discriptive review. The vest is adjustable so it can fit thicker frames as well as it does thin ones. My son has a 33 inch chest and wears a small in mens shirts where as I have a 38D chest area and wear a large in women’s. It fits my son a tad bit loose but it fits me more snug in the same adjustments because of my mom chest. When wearing the vest there is no real bounce while running. It shift a bit but it’s not really noticeable in a bothersome way.
