If you're locked into the QNAP ecosystem, you don't really have a choice about the cost, but it does show up occasionally for less if you can afford to wait. That said, it has worked flawlessly for me over the past several months. So it's a great product that simply takes a chunk out of the wallet.

Gives you 2 x m.2 slots, heatsinks, a fan and 2x 2.5gb ports for not much more cost than one of those items by themselves. I added this to my compatible qnap Nas and I am using both ports (SMB 3.0) and both drives for caching. I deducted a star because the fan is loud when it goes to full speed, which can be pretty often if the unit is under load. Overall I am impressed with the versatility and performance.

First one had a defect. The thermal pad was dented all the way through. The second was filthy and sealed with regular tape. The third was missing thermal pads. Although the seal was secure this time. Sign...close to giving up on Amazon and qnap. Amazon with it's shipping used products and qnap with the low quality overall..
