A better quality mouse.
Sturdy, like the texture feel, large gliders, excellent weight and button response. I moved from the Glorious model O and D, these are good mice but the left click was not always positive. The left click on this Aerox 5 is superior, precise, and 100% responsive. I like the extra programable buttons, their placement taking some getting used to, but work very well. The less gaudy RGB is appreciated, as is the curser accelleration/decelleration in software, but the best thing is the PRECISE button feel/response of all the switches!!! They should make a slightly smaller version.

Great for long hours of gaming!
Love this mouse - it's about half the weight of my previous logitech mouse; and super comfy for long hours of gaming. Had it for a few months now and haven't had any issues at all. Clicks super nicely; is super reactive; and looks nice on the desk. Only tidbit is that you cant click the scroll wheel sideways to side scroll; so it's not much use for spreadsheets and the like! But my favorite mouse I have owned so far.

Hoping for Durability
I'm replacing my ASUS ROG Strix Impact III with a Steel Series Aerox 5. It's been almost one year since I bought it to replace my Corsair M55 RGB Pro. I broke the left mouse button entirely. I blamed that on a combination of Genshin Impact and Honkai:Star Rail. At the same time I bought the ASUS mouse, I bought a Steel Series Rival 3. Each was around US$30, which isn't much, especially for a gaming mouse. I've been using the Rival 3 on my M1 MacBook Air, even though the trackpad is excellent. I have a few games I play and the whole set of buttons makes playing much easier. A couple of weeks ago, Solo Leveling: Arise was updated and suddenly, it was taking me 3-5 clicks for a click to register. I noticed that there was a visible lag in movement. Using the Rival 3, I was still getting some of that, but not as much. I don't expect anything like that to change because of the Aerox 5. I'm not sure what the developers are doing, but maybe they haven't had enough sleep. Being able to see inside the shell of the mouse is interesting. I don't know that I needed something this fancy, but it was US$20 off and I hoped that it would be more durable. However, I'm not likely to ever buy a mouse for over US$100. After a few weeks, I'm happy with the Aerox 5. It's rather big but comfortable. I don't care for the lights, so I turned that off. With a little boost in the tracking speed, the CPI is now 1200, which is just enough. The Steelseries GG application is much more stable than the software from ASUS or Corsair. The mouse will work equally well on my Mac since they're good enough to support both platforms.

Highly Recommended
This is an awesome gaming mouse. Lighting effects are great, easy to set up. This mouse is super light. I wasn't expecting that. Build quality amazing. Lots of settings for Dpi. Size fits hand perfectly. No noise, and is ergonomic. recommended

A unique mouse for a high price...
Don't let my headline confuse you, I love this mouse! I just feel like most tech that it's priced WAY higher than what it's probably worth. Buuut! Other than the high price tag I gotta say that there's nothing not to like about it! It's lightweight, very responsive, NO rubber grips and it has a very accessible set of side buttons! On the thought of the side buttons I mentioned in my headline that the mouse is unique. Now what makes it unique? The um... Flipper(???) side button! Just above the two standard side buttons is a single button or switch that you can flick up or down for separate actions! This is freaking awesome for anyone that wants more key-binds on their mouse without speckling said mouse with a ton of tiny buttons.

Favorite concept, worst mousewheel (died in just under 2 years)
Others have mentioned the same scenario, if you use your mouse regularly dust/grime WILL get into the encoder for the mousewheel, causing it to skip and/or reverse direction. I'd go in and clean it myself but I'm hesitant since steelseries made sure it was as hard as possible to disassemble the mouse. Between the screws being behind the hard-plastic pads under the mouse and clips holding the mouse together being placed at a difficult angle beneath the mouse buttons, I'm worried I'll break this thing before I even get close to the source of my problem. There are two reasons this mouse isn't getting a lower score: 1. The shell design allows for amazing airflow, so you'll never have to deal with a sweaty palm with prolonged use. 2. There is NO rubber grip on this. Between the lightweight build and lack of sweat concerns, there's no need for grip/textured surface that will eventually wear away or build up filth. Both of these were major problems I had with my last mouse which this one completely fixed. If SteelSeries can just properly seal up any sensitive parts like the encoder so they aren't prone to dust buildup then it'll be one of my favorite products. Edit: A little under 2 years after purchase, my mouse finally broke. I assume something within short-circuited since it died while I was playing a game with friends. I spent some time disassembling it since it was past the steelseries warranty and attempted a repair, to little success. It came back for a moment before dying once more. Still baffled why the encoder is just completely exposed at the top. That incredibly questionable choice is the source of EVERYONE'S mousewheel problems. In the last minute of life I breathed into my mouse I had removed some lint and debris and, sure enough, it was fixed. These things are designed to fail.

Worth the money
I love this mouse. It’s very lightweight and I like that I can change the colors in it to match’s my keyboard. It does keep my hand cool because it is pretty much completely ventilated. The side buttons are nice for people like me who are new to m&k and can use them for crouching or other actions you do frequently.

What the standard should be
Needed a handy mouse asap and this mouse provides excellent bang for buck. It's light, comfortable, and reliable. Definitely get this if you need a gaming mouse.

- the mouse depends on an app. that needs to be ran on startup - the app requires sign up and is a combination of 4 or more mini apps including audio related apps that you can choose to disable but will have to remain installed - when you start your computer the mouse will begin cycling through full brightness rainbow colours as its default setting before your custom profile is launched. mouse doesn't retain its settings on actual mouse - the mouse has a ton of settings which is nice. then doesn't allow for sub 100 increment whole numbers when choosing your DPi. I found 1700 slightly too slow. then 1800 a bit fast with no middle ground. but then you can adjust the acceleration and slow down to dial it in. just takes a little more time - the 5 side buttons are great with all the options to set them as anything you would need. although one of the buttons is ergonomically a bit awkward being a paddle button that activates with an upwards click and will literally have you lifting the mouse from the table to use it all in all a decent mouse. worth the price having bought it in the xmas discount period

Birthday gift for young teen, who wanted a lightweight responsive wired mouse for casual gaming. Plus customisable lights. I've used it too, and it feels great for my large hands and no sweaty palms due to the holes all across the mouse upper surface. It is very light even with the cord - which plugs in to the front of the mouse (usb-c), so if the cord fails at either end your mouse lives - what a great product ! The tactile feedback from buttons & wheel (not too clicky or noisy) and response time is fantastic. Customising software to program buttons and lights is intuitive and links with other Ss products. And i got a bargain bc of a damaged / opened box - but no problems with the mouse itself. Steelseries delivers again.
