Can the optical drive play a cd?

The optical drive supports both DVD and CD, but not BluRay.

What model year is this

I don't know when it debuted. Its CPU is latest 12th generation. But everything else seems yesteryear. • motherboard chipset is PCIe 3. modern level is PCIe 4 and 5. • SSD is PCIe 3 - around 2500/1200 MB/s. modern PCIe 4 SSDs deliver 7000/5000 MB/s. • USB is 5 Gbps. modern USB 3.2 is 20 Gbps. (USB 4 is 40 Gbps). • ethernet is 1 GbE. newer PCs have 2.5 GbE ethernet. • wireless is not old, at level wifi-6. but latest level is wifi-6e with 6GHz band. • DRAM is DDR4 3200. newer PCs have DDR5 4400. so it seems to me, with the exception of CPU and wireless, this is a pretty lackluster old design. -------------------------------------------- that's what I'd say if I Reviewed this PC. actually, I did. but Amazon deleted my Review and won't let me re-post it.

Cpu fan on tc–1760 noisy after less than a month. how purchase a replacement? does not look like standard size.

If you're still within your RMA window with Amazon, I'd RMA the defective thing. Acer so-called warranty requires YOU PAY to ship the unit to them. That would cost more than the fan is worth. Just get a refund. It's the only practical thing to do. --------------------------------------------------- I just called that phone number which Acer America Manufacturer posted. It would not connect me to support without an "SNID", but I persisted by typing "0" and after around 10 times got connected. The phone agent there would not supply me with a link for the Service Guide and LIED that it does not exist. I pointed out I have the previous TC-1660 model Service Guide, and some Aspire forum users state they have this TC-1760 Service Guide. Then the agent told me to call back during working hours. 8am Central Time. in other words, The Run Around.

does this computer have speaker? I do not want to wear headphone, earphone or add extra speakers

It does not. Windows 10 has Bluetooth, though, so you could connect a cheap Bluetooth speaker that would be far superior to any speaker you'll find installed in a computer. Something like an Oontz Angle 3, which Amazon is selling for $25.
