Wanted this mostly for the "Advanced Call Blocking" as i have had enough of scammers, surveys, fake debt collectors etc etc. I HAD TO ORDER A REPLACEMENT THE DAY AFTER I FIRST RECEIVED THIS. Details explain why ... FIRST ORDER: The base unit seemed to work fine although speaker phone was a bit muffled. The wireless unit a big problem though. It took between 24 to 36 HOURS to fully charge the batteries. Even if i put in "fully charged " batteries from an external charger, this still took over 10 hours to say fully charged. Next if i took it off the charge cradle for even 10 or 15 seconds, when placed back it took hours again to say fully charged. Google searches showed this is a common problem with Panasonic phones. SO, i ordered a replacement. REPLACEMENT ORDER: First thing i noticed on the replacement was that it had a different seal on the box saying " factory inspected " which the first one did not have. I unboxed and immediately put batteries into the wireless part and put it on the charger. SURPRISE this one actually said on the screen to charge for 7 hours ( first one did not say that ) It actually took about 10 hrs to charge fully BUT thats way better than first one. When i took remote off the charger, and then put it back on it only took about 10 mins to say fully charged again... thats the way it should be. Next i set up the main unit without any problems. Sound quality much better than first one. NEXT i noticed this base unit actually said NIGHT MODE when it was within that time setting, again first one didnt. That leads to me to TWO conclusions: 1) The replacement might have a slightly better firmware in it. 2) OR the first one was just partially bad. ( Both main and remote ) SO, IF you order one of these pay attention to see if it has the factory inspected seal. NEXT, TEST TEST TEST EVERYTHING especially how long it takes to charge up the remote unit, and if LONGER than 12 hours then get it exchanged. Now that i have a good one, i am VERY pleased with it. The advanced call block actually 'caught' TWO robocalling computers within the first 4 hours, cause those computers did not know how to get past the 3 digit code i set ... YAHOO !!!!! ONE last thing, NEITHER of these came with true panasonic batteries, but rather some cheap chinese crap named CURON with a 300mah rating. The suggested replacement by Panasonic has a 700mah rating. Personally i will switch over to EBL 1100mah batteries which should give truly amazing talk time. OVERALL, I do recommend this product, just be aware of what can be wrong especially with the remote unit. The SERIAL number on the replacement was only FIVE numbers higher too. So NOT made months apart.

I’m really happy with this Panasonic 2-in-1 phone! The cordless handset works smoothly, and it’s easy to switch to the corded base when needed. Call quality is clear, and the answering machine is super handy. I also like the call blocking feature it helps cut down on spam calls. The only small downside is the screen could be a bit brighter, but overall it’s a reliable and practical phone for home use.

volume too low even at the highest level. Also, ringtone doesn't come up immediately. you would think the phone is not working. will try it for couple of days more to see if the performance improves.

The phone itself is great -- call quality seems clear both ways on both the corded and cordless handset. The speakerphone is clear as far as hearing goes but I haven't used it to speak to anyone yet so I don't know how clear it is for people on the other end. The call announce is fantastic (though some pronunciations are difficult to understand at times) and the menus are relatively easy to navigate (though not necessarily intuitive to use the first time). The recorded messages are very clear to hear on playback but for some reason you only have the option to delete all messages or none which is unfortunate. Another disappointment is it doesn't come with rechargeable batteries for the main unit. Considering you're only supposed to put regular batteries in it during power failures (an important caution which is hidden deep in the user manual) this seems like an accident waiting to happen. Lastly, as a few other reviewers mentioned, the unit I got has been previously used. It is in very good condition but I suspected it had to be a return from the way everything was packaged inside the box. My suspicion was confirmed the first time I stored a number in it and saw there were already several other saved phone numbers. I don't mind getting a refurbished product but I expect that to be clearly mentioned in the product description and an appropriate discount in price.

The cord from the phone to the handle is about 1 foot long. Otherwise I really like this phone. Husband doesn't want a cell phone, so we need a landline. I ordered a longer cord.
