Value for the money

I bought these because my grandma had a checkers rug very similar to this. It reminds me of the one she had (not sure where it ended up since her passing and her belongs being sorted by her children). I wanted something I remembered her having and this is definitely one of them. Very durable, my own children love playing checkers and tic tac toe. She also had a set of chess pieces so I am on the prowl for those now to add to this set!

Bought this for family game night, I like it as the checkers are big and you can fold this without worrying about the board breaking (like a cardboard) version.Hopefully we will see over time how the mat holds up.

The Chess Playing Board (which is the cover of the carry case) is like a photo copy of a Wooden Chess Board that is printed on vinyl adhesive then adhered onto the outer case....it looks good at first sight but the chess playing board will be worn off, nicked, scrathched and beat from just normal use very quickly... BUT! The Backgammon board inside is actualy painted or stained onto the wood(not sealed so it too tmúwill be subject to dust and dirt) it looks 100% better than the outer case! The Chess pieces are nicely carved, all are smoothly finished & sealed as well as the checker pieces all of them sealed & smoothly finished. However; I will be returning it....you get what you pay for, although I have seen better for less! Too bad -it would have been a keeper if not for the outer case being finished in vinyl adhesive....Its not a bad looking case but it feela cheap and I know how vinyl adhesive wears.
