how do you clean these mats?

Good question. I have had my first one quite some time. I try to felt lights on one side and darks on the other. If it qets fuzzy/dirty, I scratch it pretty aggressively with my fingernails and remove the piled up fuzz. You will lift a small amount of the pads fibers with it but that's normal. I would not use a carder or anything similar...these are too aggressive and will loosen the wet felted surface of your pad making it collect your fibers even faster. You can also cover with a piece of commercial felt ( acrylic blend) cut to the size of your pad. This will collect most of the fiibers and can be removed when dirty. Hope this helps.

Why can't you pick your color?

i have been using my mat now frequently since Dec 2018. I notice it is now very thin in the middle. I keep flipping it over am I missing something?

Because it’s made of wool I think that’s bound to happen.
