Definitely Works (Learn+9pin+12pin)
Let me say to all buyers. It works for all Learn, 9pin, and 12pin garage door and community security gate. I replaced my garage door opener to a Chamberlain B970 (yellow learn button). My old garage door remote also had 9pin switches to activate the community security gate. Programming is very easy. Here is what I did. For the garage door opener: 1) Make sure garage door is in the closed position 2) Press the program button in the remote under the battery cover (LED light on remote will stay on) 3) Press the Learn button on your garage opener hub (main unit) 4) Press the designated button on your remote that you want to assign and click slowly until your garage opener lights flash. Should be the exact number of clicks mentioned in the manual 5) Press the program button in the remote under the battery cover to exit the program mode (LED light on remote will turn off) For the community security gate (either 9pin or 12pin): 1) Match the exact sequence as the old remote dip switches (if your old remote only had 9pins, make sure pin 10, 11, 12 on your new remote are in the off position) 2) Press the program button in the remote under the battery cover (LED light on remote will stay on) 3) Press the designated button on your remote that you want to assign and click slowly until your community security gate opens. Should be the exact number of clicks mentioned in the manual 4) Press the program button in the remote under the battery cover to exit the program mode (LED light on remote will turn off) That's it. The only complaint I have is the clip. The clip does not lock into place very well. Both were very loose and almost useless. Luckily I didn't need them. If you want to clip the remote to your sunvisor, it will be loose and possibly fall off. Krazy glue should fix the problem.

when hitting the learn buttons, you don't have to wait until the light to stop blinking
I'M NOT SURE HOW LONG IT WILL LAST, BUT I FOUND OUT THE HARD WAY HOW EASY IT WAS TO SET UP! I have an OLD sears garage door opener with the dip switches. All you have to do is make sure all of the switches are in the up(+) or down(-) position, not in the middle, on both the receiver and the remote. Stand in front of the door as if you were in your car, press the little program button inside the control until the light flashes. Then you begin to push either #1 button or #2 and keep slowly pushing until the door goes up. After that hit the little control button again and voila, done! Then if you want your own 4 digit code enter it on both the receiver and control and bingo you are set! Also, start with the door in the closed position.

No good
My wife and I tried to get this to sync up with both of our garage door openers. One garage door openers were made by linear and the other by LiftMaster. Both of them are less than 5 years old. I am a very highly technical person and no matter what we did it would not sync up until we tried it about 20 times and by that point the battery was dead. The directions are extremely confusing because it wants you to press a program button on the remote control but that doesn't seem to make any difference when you actually try to sync it up. Every time we tried to sync it up all it did was turn the light on and off but would never open the garage door. After replacing one of the batteries we got it to open one of the garage doors but the second button never worked. The second remote control is sitting on my desk with a dead battery. I ended up ordering another remote control from LiftMaster. Don't waste your money. This opener may work great for old garage door openers with dip switches. However I would not recommend it for newer ones

Works with early 90s dip switch garage door opener
I have an early 1990s Sears Craftsman garage door opener (GDO) with 9 dip switches. It doesn't have a learn button. I wanted a wireless keypad, so I bought a "universal" Chamberlain KLIK2U-P2MC but, after trying for 3 hours (including a call to Chamberlain customer support), it simply didn't work. I returned it, and bought this (cheaper) one. It's backlit, it beeps with each button press, and it took me only 15 minutes to get it working. The first 10 of those minutes was fetching a ladder, and changing the dip switches on my GDO. I had to do this because each dip switch has three possible positions (up, middle, down; aka +, 0, -) and the existing settings had some of the switches set at 0 (middle). However, this keypad doesn't allow that - all of the dip switches on the GDO have to be set to either up or down. So, up the ladder I went, to set them all to up or down, then I spent a few minutes programming the keypad. I used ID 10 for my GDO (even though it is a Sears, I selected ID 10, which is Chamberlain 1990-1992), and then I entered the position of each dip switch, then I chose a 4-digit PIN. And bingo, it works well. In fact, when I programmed the keypad, I was sitting in my home office, about 30 yards (and several walls) from the garage - and my wife came into my office to ask me why the garage door was moving! So, this keypad not only works, it also has a great range !! My only "complaint" is very minor - I wish there was a link, on Amazon, to a pdf of the user manual.

Feels a bit flimsy, but works.
When I first holding it, it feels surprisingly light compare to other factory remotes. It does work for my Craftsman opener following the instruction.

Read and do directions as says, don’t miss the 1 step in middle!
Was easy to set up but don’t miss the one step as I did at 1st! Once you put remote in program step and hit the function button 1 - 4 times then you have to hit any button again 1 time random. Then hit learn button on opener and again the 1-4 on that function key and works! I miss that step, as I did at 1st, will think not working. Once did full proper instruction super simple and instantly works!

Reprogramming issue and battery.
Works with two channels we’ll, however, can’t reprogram on one channel(#1) later. Not sure if you have to factory reset whole pad. The battery is a little strange - slightly different size than a Durrell 9v battery and tried numerous new Durrell 9v batteries, none worked.
