We print out paper maps for movement in that game, and they kept accidentally sliding them around, knocking down all of the characters and frustrating themselves and one another. This is a perfect solution! The maps stay in place, I can switch them out, and they don't get crumpled or spilled on so I can use them again. The finish is a little bit matte, but it does not impede our ability to see papers below the mat at all. Somewhere in the reviews or the questions asked, there was an issue about keeping the mat from sliding around. I had the same problem until I found the Scotch Restickable Strips, 1 x 3 Inches, 6 Strips (R101) (available from Amazon). I used two strips and the mat is stable now.
