Review: Excellent punch - easy to use, quality tool - Great deal for a multi-tip punch for most surfaces. Needed to drill gate posts for latches and this punch (used properly) gets your drill bit centered on each hole, without it your latches are cricked and don't line up. Not as big a problem for wood, but still helpful there as well. Also needed to drill my transmission fluid pan to add a drain plug - this punch was key for that project as well. Highly recommended.

**Q: Can this punch break a 1/4" thick tempered glass table top?.**
A: Here's the thing about tempered glass: it's incredibly strong because it's under distributed compression, like pre-stressed concrete, but by the same token it's incredibly fragile in that its own internal tension, released anywhere on the sheet, will destroy it, often dramatically. The smart way to break tempered glass (if there is a smart way, or any reason, to break tempered glass) is by dropping a brick on it from 3 stories up when it's in a deep dumpster, because those little glass cubes will fly everywhere. If you really want to be standing next to it when it explodes, just knock off a corner with a hammer, or take a file to it.

**Q: What triggers the upper chamber hammer to automatically "fire"?  This doesn't seem to work.**
A: It does not 'Fire'!  It is like an impact driver used to loosen rusted screws etc. That you tap with a hammer. This is used as a scribe or as an impact punch to make a mark, say in metal, when you drill. Tap it hard when in the correct spot, with hand or small hammer. You can adjust the depth of mark by turning the handle. Lots of good videos on YouTube

**Q: Would this be good for removing door hinge pins?**
A: Hi, this tool is not suitable for removing door hinge pins.

**Q: Will this tool punch a hole in 24 guage tin?**
A: It doesn't have much power on its own, but maybe if you use a HAMMER with it. Of course that will break the plastic end bit, so try a plain punch or nail + hammer.
This will dent wood and mild metal, not make a hole.

Great deal for a multi-tip punch for most surfaces. Needed to drill gate posts for latches and this punch (used properly) gets your drill bit centered on each hole, without it your latches are cricked and don't line up. Not as big a problem for wood, but still helpful there as well. Also needed to drill my transmission fluid pan to add a drain plug - this punch was key for that project as well. Highly recommended.

After a few weeks of light use, this punch failed to trigger more than 50% of the time. However, after I disassembled it and lubricated the internal parts, the punch triggered consistently. I deducted one star because it could have been lubricated at the factory.
