What's the difference between Calcium citrate and calcium carbonate

The difference between the two supplements include (a) the percentage of elemental calcium provided per 100mg, and (b) the way the body absorbs the supplement. Calcium carbonate is made up of 40% elemental calcium and 60% carbonate ingredient, so one 600mg tablet provides 240mg calcium. Calcium Citrate is made up of 20% elemental calcium and 80% citrate ingredient, so one 600mg tablet provides 120mg calcium. While you are technically getting more elemental calcium from a Calcium carbonate supplement, Calcium citrate supplements are absorbed more easily than calcium carbonate. They can be taken on an empty stomach and are also more readily absorbed by people who take acid-reducing heartburn medications.

Some have the code for the points and some products don't have a code. Nature Made started a new program in May of 2015. and most of the codes now go for a chance to win something.
