This book goes over almost every situation in which you'll need to deal with difficult people in a work-related setting. I truly enjoyed the example phrases, and the author does an awesome job walking you through every awkward and sticky situation you could imagine. As someone raised in a much more reserved, aloof family than what most are used to, I needed this book just to survive in the workplace. It has definitely delivered, and I find myself going to it whenver I need some advice or examples. It is that specific of a book. Definitely worth the read.

Great examples, really gets you thinking. I'm only in the second chapter and it's been very useful already.

This book is great and easy to reference for several situations. I have used it several times already at work, and it really helps me focus on how to approach a difficult person with a new way that I've never tried before. It takes some work and practice, but I saw results right away. I recommend this to anyone who is fed up with difficult people around them at work or at home, it's a refreshing change in approach that makes you comes across as a better person.

This book not only offer strategies for dealing with difficult people it also approaches each situation from another angle. An example was given in this book: How would you approach a co-worker with a hygiene problem. This book suggest that the person who wanted to approach the person to first take other factors into consideration: the person with a hygiene problem may have an illness which causes the problem or it could the medication the person is taking which causes the odor. I really liked the suggested approach of thinking (weighing the situation out first) before speaking.

These books are well written. I'm not sure if I ever used anything out of this one.

Some of us wind up in positions where dealing with folks who are upset or in otherwise difficult circumstances is unavoidable. This book offers a huge assortment of creative responses covering a wide range of issues. Over time, one can improve their communications skills greatly by referring to this book after a confrontational moment and reflecting upon the author's advice. Of course, if you know something's coming, it can help you prepare.

Useful resource when you have to work with an employee that does not behave in a professional manner. You know those people who everyone hopes will transfer out of your division, but never do? This is the bible that will make your job somewhat better when working with them.

I don’t work in an office or business type setting. I work in manufacturing and have difficulties with some coworkers. Most of the ways to talk to people are to me common sense neutral responses that don’t stoke the fire. The one take away I got was when someone complains constantly, put the problem I. Their court. Ask them what they feel is the solution, if they say they don’t know then have them think it over and get back to you with an idea they feel will satisfy them. O

For me as a German there are a lot of useful phrases. I can check back later as well when I am in need
