Yes, the Nuwave air purifier cost $400. But what it does to the quality of the air in one’s house or apartment, and what it does to improve occupant’s health makes the price more than worth it. There’s hardly anything that the Newwave can’t remove from the air you breathe where are you live. The unit has two varying light indicator bars. One at the top for particulate matter and one at the bottom for odors and microbes down to 1/10 of a micron in size. It has nine filters in all but the filters are guaranteed to last for 20 years, and can be washed very easily. Only one type of filter needs to be lightly brushed to be cleaned or cleaned with canned air. Even the slightest bit of odors and/or microbes will cause the bar on the bottom of the unit to flash red and then the flashing will stop and the bar will remain red until whatever set it off is removed by the specific filters - as the air quality improves. The light turns lighter to pink and then to white and then to green which means that it has done his job. The same with particulate matter. The top bar will turn from green to red if even the slightest hint of an unhealthy (the bar for unhealthy is set extremely high) level of dust, pollen, dead skin, and so on is detected. The air intake is on each side with all of the controls on the front. The controls include a quick on/off button, change of fan speed, angle of louvers at the top that can be set at 35°, 70° or 90° to control the direction of the clean air blowing out. I had to find a way to solve my dry problem created by living in northern Minnesota, which is extremely cold and snowy 5 to 6 months out of the year. So I bought the Newwave air purifier and a Vornado evaporative humidifier from Amazon and the combination of the two makes the air quality inside my living space feel like I am by the ocean on a calm day in late spring. It took me a little while to believe it. Kudos to NUWAVE for being on the cutting edge of innovative air purification technology.

I have used both hepa and non hepa air purifiers for about 15 years. This one performs well above the others, top of the line for mid budget and latest improvements in technology. Its quiet, gives you color sensor readings on how clean the air is, and gets the air purified quickly. Plus, with the washable filters is a total win. Anyone who's owned purifiers before can tell you how annoying it is to have to order more. Also, the app works great, and useful to use. I have to watch my air quality being near a high traffic area, and living in a recently moved into dusty home that I'm working on cleaning up. I have watched this purifier go off when the grass gets cut outside, or when I bring dust into the bedroom, it responds very well, and I'm impressed with the quality of my air in my room. I also picked one up for downstairs near the multicat litter box. Highly recommend, especially if you have allergies, or animals with allergies (like me,) or concerned about air quality if you live in the city. It's well worth the money and piece of mind. I'm so impressed, I may consider their car purifier in the future.

The customer service is great!! I was considering the Air Dog Purifier. I called their customer service, and had to leave a message. As of this moment I never received a call back. So when I got down to deciding which purifier to invest in, I chose the one that has a real human being that answers the phone. I called Nuwave numerous time, and always spoke to a super nice, patient person. Now, to the unit. I set mine up in a flash last evening in my bedroom. I has worked flawlessly so far. Very happy with this purchase. I had been using a Rabbit Air Minus A2 for years, but the last batch of filters I purchased at $103.00, had a HEPA filter that smelled chemically. Why would I want to use a filter that is suppose to take away bad odors and purify the air, but adds to it. So I am thrilled to find Nuwave with its washable filters. NO more chemical manufacturing odors on my filters. Nuwave purifier air was clean and odor free right out of the box. YAY!

My wife suffers from year-round allergies here in Texas, so I wanted to do something so she could have some sort of relief when she's at home, so I decided on this particular model. The 2 big selling points for me was. 1. No costly replacement filters. All you have to do is to rinse them out, let them dry, and pop them back in . as for the machine itself, it's performing wonderfully, I've noticed a huge difference with my wife especially. she's not sneezing nearly as much as she did . for example, before my wife would sneeze 3-4 times every 15-20 minutes, now she sneezes 2-3 time a night. a dramatic difference. My wife also says that she is sleeping a lot better because she's not as congested as she was. I'm sleeping a lot better now because her congestion was causing her to snore very loud, and now she barely snores at all... My wife says she sleeps more soundly than she did before because she's not being woken up several times throughout the night because she's so congested. I've also bought a second unit so we have one in our master bedroom and also one in our tv area where we spend the majority of our time at home . I keep them both on AUTO because you can't hear the fan at all but if it detects some sort of particles in the air then the light turns yellow then red and the fan kicks in and it is a bit loud but once the air is clear it goes back to being silent... 2. WI-FI enabled. Now I thought this was an added bonus that I can control my units via their app and I thought that was awesome , I can control them wherever I am plus it will notify me when it's time to clean the filters right? WRONG the app is totally useless that's why I only gave this 4 stars. Once you download the app you put in your info then it wants your" precise location" . Why in the name of all that is Holy does an air purifier want to know your exact location? once you do actually pair this with your phone (this process took about 3 and a half weeks to get to this point) and it did absolutely nothing at all.. Not a deal breaker but I was very disappointed because not many units have this feature I thought it was a nice perk. Having said all that about the app, the unit functions wonderfully without the app but I discovered on my own that I have several smart plugs and light bulbs throughout my house using the SMART LIFE app. through that you can pair it with that app, and it will be FULLY functional meaning you can now control your unit(s) as you see fit... This is the second one of these E1000 units I now own. The first one I purchased was in Jan and it works so well I purchased another to put in the main part of my house. The first one is in my bedroom where I use Oxygen at night to sleep. This new one I have in the main living/kitchen/dining area of my house. I have COPD and any dust, pollen, and fine 2.5 micron and less particles cause me grief breathing keeping my Blood Oxygen up. These units clean my air down to 0.01 micron of particles and are the BEST I have ever had including the paper hepa ($$$) filters. They have been independent lab tested and certified also to validate their performance. These filters have a unique filtration method of catching/trapping even the finest particles. The best part is these filters are made to clean and reuse which I was already familiar with how they operate having an Oreck years ago. The filters are designed to last 20 years plus with proper cleaning and maintenance. Follow their instructions on care and maintenance and you will be set for pure particle free air in your house. NOTE: one little thing I missed the first time I cleaned my filters was they tell you to put on a face mask and nitrile type gloves to handle the filters from opening up the cabinet until you have cleaned the filters and cabinet. Take it outside and do not open it and take them out inside the house. At least I did follow that part right. After I have opened it and took out the filters handling and cleaning according to the instructions and set them out to dry I started having trouble breathing. I had hit my rescue inhaler and then breathing treatments the rest of the day. Some of those particles the filters had taken out of my air in the house had come off in the air I was breathing and slammed my bronchial system shut, it took a week to get over that. Experience is learning from your own mistakes, Wisdom is learning from somebody else's mistakes. I offer you my Experience to you in handling these filthy filters so you may gain Wisdom. If not you can get your own Experience like me. These are by far these best air filtration systems I have found on the market in this home use price range. The Total Cost of Ownership of these air purifiers is much, much less than units with paper hepa filters. If and when these units go out I will be purchasing them again for sure.

After one year, odor sensor stopped working. Contacted Nuwave customer service and they organized shipment back to their service center for repair and returned to me. Now unit is working properly. Excellant customer service!

This is junk! I normally do not write reviews, but this time it is a must. One star minimum is still to good. Should be no stars. Bought 2 and after the short warranty ran out, the lights flashed like the filters should be cleaned. I opened and cleaned both as directed. (they didn't appear to be very dirty, not much cleaning needed) When I put it back together (as directed) neither one would turn on. Contacted customer service who had me leave the unit off for 24hrs. As if that would reset the thing. Didn't reset! Didn't expect it to! Now the next help was to return the units for repair, on my dime. What broke? Open the filter door and a secret spy wire is pulled, causing the unit to stop working. Again what broke? Shipping from/to Alaska is not cheap. If you want two of these things really cheap, pay the shipping and I will send them to you. This way you won't have to wait for the mystery failure. Item Junk! Service Junk! Do Not Buy!

I am in love with this air purifier! If you have any trouble with your breathing, definitely make the investment. The filters are 100% washable - no disposable filters at all - so you will end up saving money after just two years compared to the cheaper brands with disposable filters. And as a boon, this air purifier is Energy Star, so it is easy on your electricity bill. I haven't even noticed a difference in our electricity usage since first using this filter about 6 months ago. For the longest time I had been struggling with my nose deciding it doesn't want to work anymore as soon as I lay down to go to sleep, no matter how I position my head. I was getting so frustrated and at my wits end about my nose picking on me. But not anymore!! Since having the air purifier running in/next to my room at night, my nose works like a gem! I have only had maybe four nights that my nose went back to it's old self, but those were the nights I was also fighting off a sickness of some kind, so that can't be held against the air purifier. Whenever I have some rather "smelly" guests come visit, I can bring the air purifier into the room and have it running to make their stink disappear and not infect my home thanks to the carbon filter in the unit. It's casual enough to not cause them embarrassment and I don't have to suffer or pull out the air fresheners. If I am dusting/deep cleaning, I move the air purifier into the area I am working in to stop me from getting suffocated from all the dust and/or fumes that are kicked up into the air. If my husband is using chemicals in his workshop and the odors are slipping out through the door, I can move the air purifier closer to his room to prevent the odors from spreading further into the house. Anytime there is something that is polluting the air and I notice my lungs are not enjoying it, just being near the air purifier (with it on, of course) almost immediately opens my lungs back up so I can breath again. It is definitely amazing. Seriously, you need this air purifier in your life. The cleaning process is something you'll want to do on a day you will be home to make sure you have it ready to reinstall before bed, but the whole process isn't really too labor intensive. Some of the filters need to just be vacuumed, but others need to be washed in the sink with soapy water. You will then want to gently shake most of the water out before allowing them to airdry inside. This is the part that takes the longest, and I try to speed it up a bit by gently shaking it out periodically. Once the parts are all completely 100% dry, you then reinstall the filters and it is good to go. The filters will need to be cleaned about every 3 to 4 months, and the unit will beep and have a red light on it to let you know when it is time. It took me about 40 minutes to clean the filters the first time I did it (probably only 20 once you know what you are doing), and the drying process took about 6 hours. I was amazed by how much dirt was in those filters! They definitely work, that is for sure. I don't believe that the air purifier is able to clean the air in my entire house at once because of the design of my house (my house is only 1400 square feet, but it is full of hallways). It does appear to be able to get all of the main area at the same time (900 square feet), so if I purchased one additional air purifier, I probably would not have to move the purifier around so much. Once again, I can not recommend this air purifier enough. It is the best investment I have ever made. My sinuses thank this purifier, my lungs thank this purifier, my nose thanks this purifier. It is amazing.

Very having something you don’t have to keep buying filters for as well as being very efficient, you have the option of being able to clean it every 3 months. It’s pricey but I’ve gone through many from Honeywell to Dyson and it’s very reasonable
