It is NOT like normal lotion, it's milky and about the consistency of water, which freaked me out the first time I used it. It's great under makeup, it makes skin almost tacky once it's dry which causes makeup to stick better. I've used everything from la mer to oil of oilay and this is the first lotion that hasn't made me break out. I would switch to the other, thicker version if your skin is super dry, for night time, or for winter. I would strictly use this on oily days or underneath makeup. It's not a miracle lotion, but for the price it's pretty amazing. It seems to brighten my skin when I use it, although the effects aren't lasting.
