Does do Natural Gas & Propane (Honda EU2000i)
Great product! Easy install and directions. There is also a YouTube video of a install you can look up. The unit is bi fuel, but the product does come with an Natural gas jet that can be screwed into the metal part that goes onto the carb in place of the propane jet. One small minor hang up was the propane attachment on the top of the generator itself. I drilled the hole a little too close to the handle and when screwing the adapter on, it kept smacking the handle with each turn. Once installed, ran the gas out of carb, switched to propane and it fired up with no problem. Sounded and acted the same as if were running off gas. One thing I was curious about was the fuel consumption when on propane. I found several opinions online, but some that makes a little sense said to expect approx 15% increase in fuel consumption and another said 1 - 3 Ibs of propane per hour depending on load and generator condition. Not sure of the truth behind it, but I would’ve liked a rough guesstimate. I might add, order gaskets for a carb rebuild, if your going to take the time to unbutton everything, go the extra mile and replace some gaskets and O-rings. The kit does come with two gaskets needed on the air intake side. Total install time was approx 30 minutes or less.

This is a life-saver!
This is an outstanding product! I bought it and installed it on a brand new Honda 2200 so it's never even seen gas (though you can easily switch back to gasoline after installing the conversation should you need to). We lost power for 6 days after hurricane Milton (some had it much worse) and this baby really came through. We had to hustle around town for propane tanks, but we managed to keep the fridge cold, run a window-shaker AC, plus some lights, tv, and internet. It used a full bbq bottle in about 12-16 hours, depending on what we had switched on. It was an excellent investment. Easy to install and to use. It also stinks up the area a lot less than burning gas, which is a huge plus too!

Great flexibility for fueling generator
The Honda EU2000i generator is a great machine, but it is very vulnerable to having the carburetor gumming up if gasoline is left in it for a long period of time (i.e. not running it dry). I found that the generator wouldn't want to start if I let it sit for more than about a month, and I'd have to coax it back to life with Sea Foam (fuel additive). Add to that the limited shelf life and other storage hassles for gasoline, and the thought of running the generator with propane instead is really attractive. Propane doesn't go bad, and it won't clog up the carb, so the generator can be ready to go when it needs to. The biggest downside to propane is that it doesn't produce as much power as gasoline, but that's a decent compromise. The Hutch Mountain conversion kit is very well put together. It includes replacement labels that match the style of the originals so they blend right in. I've run the generator with propane for a few hours during a power outage (keeping the refrigerator going) and it worked perfectly. I keep extra propane around for it, and I can always just put in gas if I need to. Installation was relatively straightforward, but I did have to acquire some of the necessary tools: an 8mm socket, a torque-limited wrench, and a step drill bit. The only thing that I was worried might have gone wrong was that the torque wrench seemed to break at very different numbers of turns for two screws, so I was nervous about something getting warped or stripped, but I think that had as much to do with the generator itself as with the conversion kit. All in all I think it took me a bit over an hour to do the installation but I was being very careful and deliberate about it. I'm pleased with how the finished system looks.

Successful and easy install on older EU2000i
I couldn’t be happier. It took about one hour after watching a YouTube video that was slightly out of date. I followed the very clear updated instructions during the build. Ran smooth after residual gasoline cleared; about 3 minutes. Also works well under load with ECO mode on or off. My generator is an EU2000i AC. My serial number (EAAJ 1782214) was lower than recommended by Hutch Mountain, but it works fine for me. I spoke with customer service and they said some folks report success with lower serial numbers but they can not make any guarantees. Apparently older models had a different carburetor and control board. Looking at a Genconnex propane conversion kit brochure, it say their kit is “Compatible only with late model EU2000i’s designated by AN,AN1,AN2,K1,AC,AC1,AC2,A1,T1 and newer“ so that may explain why my EU2000i AC worked fine with the Hutch Mountain kit. UPDATE: After using it a few time I experienced generator surging, after most starts. Placing a small load on the generator smoothed it out ever time.

Great product. Nice workmanship. Worked great
I’ve been kicking around the thought of propane for my two generators for a few years because the pain of storing gasoline is challenging. I have 20 gas grill bottles so having propane generators made cense to me. I bought one kit and installed it in 30 min with very little complication. Fired it up and began to smile. I did have to adjust the regulator to smooth the motor out and I had it smoother than stock gasoline did. I was so happy I bought another one for my EU2000I companion. I also thought of building the second kit myself but I think hutch did such a good job with this kit that it wasn’t worth saving a few dollars. Anyway 2 days after the kit was installed the power went out. I’ve never been happier to see the power go out because I knew I had a reliable back up source that wouldn’t let me down. Thanks for the quality workmanship that went into this kit.

good alternative to gas as a backup plan
it works. pretty easy to install. customer service is excellent. very helpful with tuning and troubleshooting. my only issue is it does not supply the same power like gas. it cannot take the load when something is drawing alot of power. its will not run in eco mode. it shuts down. good alternative but pretty much the same cost as running gas as it uses alot of propane when drawing heavy load. when it kicks out it's a lot of priming to start generator again. but a good alternative when your in a pinch.
