The strap velcros on to itself first, and then pressure is applied to a firm bar via the last part of the strap. The bar velcros on so you can adjust where it is positioned on the strap. A lot easier to put pressure on your tendon without too much of a tourniquet effect around your whole knee. Much better support and stronger Velcro than mueller type straps. Good quality, but probably will need to replace every so often due to stretch and sweat, but as to be expected with all sports braces. Food for thought, most of the time with jumpers knee you really should just take it easy or stop jumping so high for a minute...
