I ate according to the book and I was super strict because I was tired of getting tingling, poor blood circulation in my hands that for the last couple of years seem to never go away. Though a couple of years ago I was able to make it go way but after eating ice cream a few days in a row it came back strong and I couldn't get it to go away again. It was many many months of the tingling every minute of my life when I said I don't want to think about dying at age 48, so I got 3 books, 2 from Joel Fuhrman and I love his books. So informative, easy to understand, and simple to do. The recipes from this book are just that easy and delicious. After you read why to eat this why this book explains what to eat and how much plus all of those wonderful recipes. I made so far only the shredded carrots and that was awesome and delicious! Looking forward to trying many more. I read his other book 1st then a couple if weeks ago I started reading this one. It's an awesome book. The details of what to eat each day are written in this book then 131 recipes to help you make them. I needed this information to be able to succeed in fully reversing heart disease and all other illnesses. I've never felt better in my life. I fit into my clothes that I haven't wore in 20 years. All my clothes are big on me. I have to get a new wobedrobe. My blood pressure use to be 140/93. After 1 1/2 months I checked it and it was 106/77. How great is that! Plus I feel great too.

Love it! Worth the money
So glad I went for it. The complaints from others about the recipes being too simple are exactly what I like the most! Very practical recipes that you can easily make even when tired after work. That is exactly what we need when hungry and no energy! Great pictures and a lot of them. The recipes help to give a general idea of how to eat and food combinations that I forgot about or have never eaten before. Great price and totally worth the money.

What's with the no salt at all recipes?
**I've amended my original rating from three stars to four stars. After cooking lots more recipes from all of the categories, I've grown to really love this cookbook. I stand by my opinion that salt is a necessary ingredient in cooking most anything. And I use healthy oils sparingly. But if you know how to modify, or are used to the no oil/salt nutritarian diet, this is an excellent cookbook. Original review- I really wanted to love this cookbook, as I'm trying so hard to eat a healthy diet, especially by following the eat to live guidelines, but.....it was only o.k. Pros: All the recipes are very healthy!! They are all easy to prepare using common (if you cook at all) ingredients. They come together quickly. Cons: The recipes are BLAND! Dr. Fuhrman uses NO salt in any of the recipes, and minimal spice.. I get it that too much sodium is unhealthy, but come on, no salt? Even bread needs some salt to taste palatable. Anyway, if you are a semi-experienced cook you will be able to add spices and SALT to these recipes to make them both healthy and yummy. Otherwise, forget it. If you make the recipes as written and are used to good food, you will be disappointed.

Following clean cooking since my mom's first efforts in our life in California, this book provides great recipes I have not tried and includes nutrient levels for better meal plans. I'm in love with this new availability of what good food servings provide! This may become a hard copy Holiday gift even for those who Google. Amazing good and nutritious food with creative recipes. Buy the hard cover! Make notes. Make it a family treasure.

"Quick and Easy" is a great resource for anyone, Nutritarian or not.
I have been Nutritarian for awhile now and love finding new ways to enhance my plant-based diet. I have Dr. Fuhrman's Eat to Live and the first Eat to Live Cookbook. Both have some very good recipes, tips and information on the Nutritarian Lifestyle. This new Quick and Easy Cookbook has taken it all to a great new level. First of all, it is beautiful. There are 131 recipes on 263 pages; that means a wonderful, full-color photo for each recipe. You know just what is it supposed to look like and the photography is first rate. It is divided into 11 Sections from Breakfasts to Desserts. Sprinkled throughout are TIPs that educate about Nutritarian eating and each recipe has the per-serving nutrition information if you need that. I have tried several of the recipes and enjoyed them all, including Berry "Yogurt", Ginger Almond Dressing, Quick Avocado Dressing, Super Simple Hummus, and Lemony Mushroom Quinoa. I'm approaching the Soups and Stews section in a "Julie&Julia" fashion, making one a week! So far, we've enjoyed Buenas Noches Black Bean Soup and Carrot and Red Lentil Soup. Both are delicious. I find this book a real improvement over his first cook book, at least for my husband and me. The recipes have no pretense of being fussy or gourmet and they come together, well, quick and easy! I would recommend this to anyone who is trying to eat Nutritarian, plant based or just want to eat heathier.

Well organized, recipes uninspiring
Already health conscious, Iโm easing into a mostly plant based diet. Iโm looking for some inventive recipes to help make the transition. For the most part I do not care for this cook book. It is laid out well but the recipes are not very inspiring to me. First the good: โข introduction gives philosophy info on nutrition/plant based diet โข ingredients list is easy to read & directions are easily understood โข calories and nutritional information is listed for every recipe โข attractive color photos of all recipes โข meals/recipes listed before each section with page number makes locating recipes quick & easy What I donโt care for: โข not enough main dish recipes and some have meat in ingredients โข very basic recipes, most unimaginative and some unappealing There are recipes for oatmeal, smoothies homemade salad dressings, and salads. These recipes make up half of the content. The other half is dips, soups, main dishes and desserts. The main dish recipes are broken into 3 sections: (1) vegetables and or vegetables with beans, (2) grain based recipes, (3) recipes that include meat. Many recipes are not very appealing or are so simple you hardly need this book to guide you. Example: a main dish recipe : โArtichoke and tomato sauce dinnerโ, ingredients: 12 oz frozen artichokes, 6 cloves of garlic & 1 cup of tomato sauce. - Hmm. No, thanks. While this cookbook is laid out well and does have some helpful information and a few ok recipes, most of its content isn't anything I couldnโt have thought of myself. There are numerous more imaginative vegan/vegetarian meals that can be found for free on internet recipe sites that are more thoughtful.

Very good information- Quality hard covered book
Quite a lot of specialised ingredients that I don't normally keep in stock, but healthy all the same. May find some hard to come across in our grocery stores. Measurement are not common in Australia, however, easy to adapt.

Like the photos that go with the recipes. I was also happy to find a chapter on small additions of meat to recipes as it makes it easier to eat healthy meals with my hubby (omnivore) and I can make The other recipes for myself.
