Expensive but excellent.
Expensive but excellent. Tried going the cheaper route with some other brands and they sound quality was poor, not to mention I couldn't get more than 2 connected together even though it was supposed to work with up to 6 riders. This Senna 30K sounds great and connects instantly to a phone and the mesh works perfectly too. Buy once, cry once.

Motorcycle communication
Bought a pair of these so that I could communicate with the leader of our group. Sound is clear, Mics are somewhat wind sensitive. Music playback is excellent. I have had phone conversations and it has not been a problem. I am surprised with the battery life amazingly long. I haven't had any range issues.

Wow! Worked great. Easy setup, clear communication.
We were not sure which com to get when planning our motorcycle camping trip... I was worried about the Sena and previous complaints of wind noise... NOT an issue with the 30K. My buddy and I had great clear communication with these. Note: you will get wind noise if you visor is up at 65+ mph... But at normal speeds, visor down, no issues. Also - I ride with a guy that has a 20s and his com has constant wind noise, and he has to mute while riding. Also - My buddy picked up an old Sena MSH10 for his wife while she rides. It connected perfectly to his 30K via direct Bluetooth, and we were all (all 3 of us: 2 30k's and the 1 SMH10) able to communicate.... NOTE: the SMH10 has sooooooo much wind noise. (need to mute it when not talking.) Hope this helps...

Bluetooth and MESH in one unit. Not so good for listening to opera.
For those new to motorcycle communication systems, you have a few things to consider before you select one to mount on your helmet. First, Bluetooth vs MESH. While MESH means what you think it means (invisible device to device communication until the desired endpoint is reached), Bluetooth means more than the short range cable free communication protocol you're used to. In this case it also means short range wireless broadcast protocol, and is the alternative to MESH. The two are alternatives to each other and are meant to be seen as incompatible. Thus, if you get a MESH system (Sena Spider, for instance), and your riding buddy has a "Bluetooth" system, you won't be able to talk to each other. This is why you want to pony up for the Sena 30K, it will talk to devices in both camps. Will it pass communications between the two classes of devices? I don't know, I haven't tried it yet, although you'd think it would within limits. Will it talk to Cardo devices? It's supposed to, again I haven't tried that. What's the range? That depends on the terrain you're riding through. In my experience, Bluetooth will get you a kilometer or two, but less if there's a hill in the way. MESH will get you much further as long as everyone stays within an appropriate distance from each other. Connectivity? Probably easier if you download the app, which I haven't done due to app security concerns. On the plus side, you can connect to each other without the app, I know because I have tried. Installation? To do a proper job takes some effort, but Sena sends you everything you need in the box. There are videos on YT, the good ones will tell you everything you need to know. Battery life? Very good so far. Sound quality? Talking on the phone (if you're riding in range of your service provider) the quality is excellent. My wife didn't know I was out riding. Talking to another rider again excellent, although he whined like a baby every time I honked my horn. Music sound quality not nearly so good. Depending on what you want to listen to, you'll hear maybe a third of it. That will be enough for metal or possibly classic rock you know by heart, but I was very disappointed when I put on opera before heading out on an epic ride. You can't hear enough to distinguish Nessun Dorma from Un Bel di Vedremo. In short, unless you know everyone you'll ever ride with and what they'll use, this is the unit you want.

Nothing but problems for $300
If I could give 0 stars I would. This intercom has been nothing but problems. For a $300 system I would expect nothing but great quality. Started giving me issues with connecting to my friends 30k and then we couldn’t hear eachother, it would cut in and out from not hearing eachother to hearing eachother without pressing anything. Now I got the low battery warning and the system turned off and will not charge or turn back on. I’m hoping Sena will make this right, I’ve reached out to them. If not I will never buy Sena again.

They work great.
I had a little bit too much wind noise, so I doubled the wind screen. Problem solved. Easy to operate. I purchased the double set. Music sounds great and the mesh system sounds great too.

Adds a whole new dimension to the riding experience.
These work great. We use 6 of them out on the trails and it is nice to make sure everyone is ok. The range is hindered a bit when you are out in the hills and trees as you would expect, but not bad. The voices are very clear and there is next to no background noise. Quite amazing really. I can recommend.
