These tins are pretty thin and flimsy. They could be easily crushed, like an aluminum soda can. Some of them arrived with dents. They were packaged in an unpadded manilla envelope, so it doesn't surprise me. The damage was likely due to an Amazon shipping and handling issue. If I were to use these for packaging items for gifts or for resale, I would be very disappointed and I would return them. However, I only plan to use these tins for my own purposes to temporarily hold things like match sticks, paper clips, fishing hooks, sewing needles, thumb tacks, and chewing gum. Overall, it was an OK price price for a lot of small tins. However, these are not durable and won't last long. They probably won't hold up under any kind of abuse, such as with banging around inside a backpack or with hurriedly fumbling around in a fishing tackle box, but they will serve their purpose in the short term, if treated gently. If you need to store something where the tins would bang against other gear or fumble around inside a junk drawer, then it is probably best to look elsewhere for something more substantial. You would probably have better luck with reusing an Altoids mint tin. These tins are flimsier than that and seem more appropriate for holding something very temporary, such as a gift card or a small gift box for little candies. They don't seem much good for any other purpose. I wish that the item description more accurately portrayed this; but, I suppose, you get for what you paid.

My friend needed something exactly like these tins for a creative project of hers. I bought it for her and she said it worked perfectly for her needs.
