I am going to try gluing it, because I don't tend to pick anything really geavy up with it But I am going to buy another, and not be such a silly person with it! It's amazing for closing my curtains from my armchair. I'm disabled, and my curtain rail is really high. So even if i could stand, it's high up anyway, and I'm short. So I use the extra reach of the 40" grabber to be able to pull the curtains at the top and make them fully closed. Sometimes picking things up can be a bit tricky when it comes to putting it into my hand, just because the 40" is slightly too long. I migjt try the 36", so I've still got loads of reach, but have a tiny bit less to argue with when trying to put an item into my hand from it. I would say it definitely holds a lot more weight than my cheaper grabbers. I haven't overly tested it, but I have picked up a full 500ml brown glass liquid medicine bottle with it, and they're pretty heavy and a tricky shape/texture for grip. The grabber "fingers" have lots of grippy bumps. My guinea pigs have munched on them slightly, unfortunately. I do use it to help guide them home/away from wherever they are without having to get down on the floor with them and scoot around. It's also great for helping to clean out their cages as i can reach across to straighten blankets and what not. I find the locks on the folding sections to be very sturdy. I don't tend to fold it up, as I'm using it all the time, but they don't give way like some cheaper ones. It has the changeable angle for the gripper bit, so it can be inline or perpendicular to the handle. The handle is easy to hold (I have fairly small hands), and isn't stiff or difficult in anyway (my hands can be a bit hard to use). I often find myself using this in various places in my house. I have 1 cheap one in my bedroom for my curtains in there, but I will be replacing that, too, eventually. Fully converted tk the EzPick grabbers! The quality of manufacture seems good and it helps that it can be folded up when not in use and it picks up objects well. I tried using the grabber in my right hand with a round deodorant in the pincers and I found it difficult to control the the grabber and think it would take a lot of practise. I’m 78 years old and have arthritis in my shoulders, I’m right handed. I did try unclipping the hinge and using the grabber with the deodorant in the pincers and the rod at right angles. did manage to apply some deodorant onto my left armpit. The pincers only opened to 2 inches when the rod was at right angles.j I didn’t try it holding the grabber in my left hand. I use this grabber in the kitchen as I find the pincers more sturdy than other grabbers.. I use it to pick up the variously shaped dishes used for the cat food placed on the floor I’ve shaped a piece of strong wire into the shape of a hook fixed in the hole on the handle. I think you might be able to design some way of fixing a deodorant to the end of a flat strip of wood.flat strips of wood. The other end of the strip screw into another strip of wood at right angles. When you applied pressure when using the deodorant it won’t fall off. I think having a variety of grabbers is helpful,I have them dotted round my home. I hope I’ve helped you. Not the fault of product.** A: not sure on that one I suggest you tape them up asi I’ve had to do they still work fine but you can’t fold up. **Q: Does the newer design not come in the shorter length? Thanks** A: The advert currently says 36” or 32”. I went for the 36” as the shorter length was too short for me as I would need to bend over to pick stuff up. A case of I was able to try another one out to see what was right for me, without having to return my purchase from Amazon. **Q: Do the end tips meet ?** A: I found it quite easy to catch wasps. I have used it to help me get dressed, picking and put down things on the floor. It’s very sturdy and will pick a china plate up but fantastic for very small things too, like me dropping my tablets. It’s easy to keep clean and folds away beautifully.
