The door I made is just shy of 1 and 3/4 inches thick where the hinges mount and weighs in excess of 45 lbs. When I first mounted the hinges, they made a terrible loud squeal when in operation very similar to what another reviewer reported (they also made a video of it). I contacted the seller through desertcart and they responded with-in a few hours on a weekend. The seller stated to remove tension on the springs (which is very easy to do) and apply 3-in-1 oil to the vertical space behind each bracket. I used silicone spray because that's what I had on hand. It worked perfectly, no more squeak! It may be a maintenance thing I'll need to repeat in the future, but it's so easy... With that said, I almost gave it 4 stars because it still makes a mechanical sound (springs tensioning) but with something this beefy it is kind of expected.
