Dog Rear Leg Hock Joint Compression Wrap - Supportive Brace for Weak Back Legs, ACL Tear, and Joint Discomfort - Adjustable Hind Leg Support for Senior Dogs - Medium

I bought this for my golden retriever to give him some extra support during walks. The wrap is easy to use and adjust, stays in place well, and the material feels comfortable without being too bulky. It fits as expected and seems well made.

Initially I ordered the medium after measuring and it was way too big. For reference I have a 65 pound 15 year old Golden retriever. She’s very delicate though with a slight build. Not muscular at all. On the mediums the neoprene overlapped and would slip. I couldn’t get it snug. Emailed the owner Noah direct and he helped me figure out sizing so I tried the small instead. It fits almost perfectly. The top two Velcro’s overlap just slightly but the bottom two Velcro’s (below the hock) barely fit. My pup is obviously in between sizes. But the small is working well to support her. I can’t imagine the small fitting any tea cup breed but it all depends on the size of their legs and the thickness. The weight of the dog isn’t really gonna help. It’s how skinny Or muscular the leg is. Here’s some pointers that might help others order: -When you measure be sure you know where the hock joint actually is. It’s just a bit above the ankle. That big bone that sticks out like a knob on the back of the leg. Two of the Velcro’s clasp below that bone and two of the Velcro’s clasp above it. The actual hock joint is not covered by the brace. -Measure with the measuring tape pulled tight. Especially if your dog has lots of hair. The brace has to fit snug or it won’t work. -If your dog has lots of hair I’d suggest wrapping the area lightly with some vet tape or bandages first so the brace stays on better and doesn’t pull the hair. You could even wrap the area and then measure it to give you a better idea. -If you’re not sure about sizing because your dogs legs shape doesn’t fit in the right category email the owner first and ask. He’ll totally help you out. Nicest guy ever. -Don’t leave the braces on too long or overnight. The area needs to breathe and you don’t want those muscles to weaken from lack of use. -It’s much easier to put the braces on when your pup is standing up. I straddled her facing her bum and bent over her to put them on. Tried it with her laying down and once she stood up the brace wasn’t in the right position. Overall this is an excellent brace and it’s really sturdy and well made. I have a different brand of braces for her front legs and they are just plain neoprene. These braces are bite/chew proof. Does not stay up. Very thin neoprene that offers no support. Tried to return it and was unable to return it AND received NO response from the vendor or Amazon. I do not recommend this product due to poor quality and utter lack of customer service.

This hock support is exactly as described, well made and the Velcro is strong. Fits my dog well and she was totally comfortable wearing it. Left it on for several hours initially and no irritation. I could tell from her gait that it is giving her the support she needs on that leg. Very pleased to have found this company and products.

I think the product is what it’s advertised as. It met my expectations at least. Unfortunately it didn’t help my dog though. I don’t think you should expect much from a cheap Amazon brace (I certainly didn’t) but I figured there was no harm in giving it a try before going a more expensive route. My dog suffered severe nerve damage to his hind leg and now his lower leg is essentially paralyzed. I thought the extra support would allow him to move more confidently but it ended up making him walk even more off, either by being too restrictive or just feeling weird for him. One thing to be aware of is because it depends on compression to be supportive, you can only use it for short periods of time otherwise your dog’s foot is likely to swell up. I only used it when we left the house and my dog was going to be doing a fair bit of walking/running.

As dogs get older more ailments begin to show up. And unfortunately for my dog, she's starting to show some of those symptoms. I can tell it's harder for her to run and do those physical activities that she once did effortlessly. I tried to see if a product like this would help her, and it looks like it does help with support in her back leg. She also always scratched and licked a wound there. So now she doesn't I wouldn't say this helps cure her, but it vastly improves her comfortability and gives her the support that she needs. Especially now that she's getting older and isn't as active as before.

It went on easy enough but since velcro is the only thing holding it on, the dog chewed at it and had it removed in a few hours. Put it back on to try again and in removing the second time the dog chewed the straps to the point they are non-functional and it can no longer be used. Tried to use this to bandage a wound the dog won't quit licking and he destroyed it in less than 24 hours.

This brace has been an absolute lifesaver for our senior dog! He was struggling with hind leg weakness and joint discomfort, and within a few days of wearing this support wrap, we noticed a huge improvement in his stability and willingness to walk.

Unser Hund (Labrador) hat eine Sprunggelenkverletzung und deshalb gehumpelt. Die Bandage schütz gut und gibt Halt. Leider musste inzwischen operiert werden weil sich ein Bänderriss herausgestellt hat. Für die Zeit nach Verband und Fäden ziehen setze ich wieder auf die Bandage. Größe M ist perfekt für unser Labbimädchen.

Me gusto que es muy practica, Milky se adapto rápido a ella ya que no le estorba para nada, me gusto el material y la forma permite que se fije muy bien.

An excellent product and service from Labra. It kept our old boy on his feet when his hocks started failing. We now know it is was a bleed on his spleen, that’s being removed today. Hopefully we won’t need then for a while after his op.
