This hot shoe cover is unique in the way it covers the entire hot shoe area, not just the slot leaving the joint exposed so any rain that might hit the area can seep into the shoe itself. The design is such that it literally snaps in place and forms what appears to be an integral part of the body yet is easily removed to access the shoe when needed. The color nicely matches the basic Canon body color. Only problem I can see is ensuring to not lose the cover since they are a bit pricier than the standard ‘tab’ style covers and could be easily lost. The cover seems to be well made of a quality plastic. Time will tell how well they keep and perform but for now I am very satisfied either way it. I purchased 3 of these as they fit all my cameras with the new multi-function hot shoe; R6ii, R7 and R10.

Worked exactly how you’d imagine. Good product. Fit my canon eos t6i well

The hot shoe fit perfectly in the slot of my xt50. The color isn’t exactly the same but not in a bad way. Certain angles it looks darker but other angles it is color matched. Nice subtle add to my rig. It feels pretty stable in the slot and doesn’t feel like it will slip out. It wasn’t a struggle to put in either.

Hot shoe covers (of all types) are a dime a thousand, and you can get them anywhere, with some outlets selling bags of the plastic versions of 25 or more for a pittance. Of course, they all wind up being the same - that is, often being made of a cheap plastic, that just slide into your hot shoe area to keep the connection points safe. But what about the top metal areas of the hot shoe? Those often get overlooked and as your camera ages the once silver areas of the top begin to tarnish, showing an age much older than the camera itself. And it doesn't matter if your camera is in great condition when you go to sell it someday, if the hot shoe area looks old, tarnished, or beat up, then any claims of "Mint" or "Excellent" condition won't be taken seriously. Well, I've used thousands of them in my 55 years of being a photographer. But this ER-SC3 Hoe Shoe Cover cap is, without a doubt, the most functional one I've used. It covers everything. Under the top cover umbrella portion lies the part that slides into your hot shoe, and the umbrella part covers the top areas of the hot shoe. It looks great and gives the impression that it was originally part of your camera. It's a cinch to slide on also. I originally ordered 2 of them and will be ordering more - they are well worth the asking price. Yes, they look different, provide completion protection, and are of a design that should have been adopted a long time ago. I'm going to order a dozen more (since that's how many cameras I'm maintaining)... Highly recommended...
