I have no idea about why anyone would criticize anything about this mug...it's just perfect. Your hand will never slip even when wet, nice and thick and really keeps tea and coffee hot a long time, much better than any other high dollar mugs I've purchased or used. I'm really in awe at how much I love this mug...it's design, materials used....just the entire mug is exactly what I've been searching for....OH and I measured and these cups are a full 16 ozs with 1/4 inch room left in cup. These cups are NOT burning my fingers at all so not sure what others are talking about and I make very hot tea and coffee in them........ ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice and sturdy *by G***N on February 2, 2018* Warning for folks who suffer from Multiple Chemical Sensitivities or other extreme allergies: There were so many allergens on the box, even my friend was affected. Had to throw all the packaging away immediately. Might consider opening yours outside, if you order these.These are nicer than I expected: The photo doesn't clearly show how large the handles are, and I thought they might be a bit small, but two fingers fit comfortably in the handle, and the shape of the bottom of the handle provides a comfy place for a supporting third finger. Love the shape of the bottom of these cups - very stable. I bought these to replace two mugs of a similar size, but the bottoms of the old ones were narrower than the tops and easy to knock over. That problem is well solved with these.Also really like the absence of cutesy artwork, although I'd enjoy having a choice of colors. Sill, these are a very pleasant off-white, easy to clean and just very nice mugs.Although I far prefer the sturdiness of stoneware, I will definitely order these again if/when the ones I have now get chipped or broken. As far as ceramic mugs go, these are the best ones I've ever purchased. Very satisfied overall. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ First Quality and Generously Sized Mugs. *by A***R on August 8, 2017* I've been using these mugs now for several weeks in serving the morning coffee and afternoon tea for my family. These are first quality, generously sized mugs, and I am very pleased with this purchase. Although the design of the handle allows only 2-3 fingers to grab it while the other fingers brace it from the bottom, hot beverages will be impossible to hold in this manner. My solution has been to crochet custom-fitted cozies for these mugs, in variegated colors (e.g. Red Heart's Monet and Autumn). Now, coffee stays hot longer and the mugs look fantastic. I purposefully searched for large, Made in America mugs for the simple reason that I prefer not to worry about ingesting toxic heavy metals leaching out of the glazes of ceramic ware. Hint: If you're concerned like I have been, check out the California Prop 65 link which is posted to certain products being offered on Amazon. My goal now is to use only ceramic ware which has been certified lead and cadmium free. American Mug Pottery and Homer Laughlin are two American companies which do just that. I'm happy and grateful that these two great companies are still around and producing excellent products.
