Works as described
Use this all the time to repair chips in my fiberglass sailboat. Seals out water just like gelcoat, but much easier and faster to use. Also repaired a garage chain sprocket, that broke in half, and it was as strong as original.

Great Product! Awesome Results.
I used this product to patch an old fiberglass pool slide. I have used many types of patches and putty in the past but this was slightly different in consistency. It was easy to mix and apply. It had the consistency of sticky tar and I was not sure how hard it would setup or cure. I let it dry about 48 hours before attempting to sand it. The product worked awesome. I used a hand held palm sander and had no problems sanding it smooth. Just want to make sure you don't put too much on because it sets up very hard. Once sanded and completely cured, I applied a primer and top coat to the slide. The patched areas are completely perfect, you would never know any repair was done, it looks like new. I would recommend this product to anyone.

Perfect for quick fixes
Easy to mix up on a flat piece of cardboard, has at least a 20 minute pot life (flat cardboard life?), and extremely easy to work with. I found that you can wet your finger after you've applied it and smooth out your application. This makes feathering into the surrounding area much easier and, if you've done it right, means you probably won't have to sand it smooth when it dries. I'll definitely be using this in the future. Dries pure white with a semi-glossy finish when applied how I described. I may even use it to "repaint" areas with significant paint chips where sanding down a huge spot, priming, and multiple coats would be a pain (i.e. spaces with irregular edges larger than 3"x6" due to dock rash, etc).

Repaired Damaged Fiberglass on 26 Foot Center Console Boat
I had purchased a 26 foot Center Console boat which was in good condition but did have a gouge at the base on the rear fold-down seat from the previous owner's friends who apparently engaged the transom opener while forgetting to move something out of the way. The 1st pic is the area that I taped off and used acetone to clean; the 2nd pic is after I sanded the area; the 3rd pic is me mixing the epoxy with the compound; the 4th pic is with the mixed compound in place (used plastic spackle tool); the 5th, 6th, and 7th pics were taken during the sanding process (used 400 then 600 grit); the 8th and 9th pic are after using Polishing Compound and cleaning residue. The repair actually turned out great other than the fact that the color didn't quite match - I probably should have tinted but it was in an inconspicuous location so I wasn't too concern. The product seemed to adhere very well (applied at about 82 degrees F in shaded area) and was ready to sand and polish about 8 hours later.

Good boat repair stuff
ding 1 star for the packaging. the box contents comes in a bottle for the accelerant and a plastic tube and cap for the putty. You mix the two together to make the epoxy. The putty tube cap was not sealed on the tube, but the putty still worked. After mixing all the contents together and applying on the boat hull, I had enough left over to do a second coat once the first coat cured. I sealed the leftover epoxy in the tube and cap but it dried up and was not usable. The first coat put on the hull of boat came out good and was able to sand and smooth the cured epoxy. Also the color match the hull very good.

From RV Shower to Jet-Ski Hulls, this stuff works!
I've used Marine-Tex in the past to repair the hull on my Kawasaki Jet-Ski with great success. The repairs held even jumping the surf in shallow water and hitting the bottom from time to time. When cracks started forming around the drain in my RV shower pan, I figured I'd give this a try rather than going through the time, trouble and expense of replacing the pan. It worked great! Just make sure you prep the surface with sandpaper first and get it completely clean and dry (I used a rag soaked in acetone for final prep). Then just smooth on the Marine-Tex with a flexible tool, like a stainless steel cake decorating spatula (this does require a little "artistry"). Once it's completely cured (I waited almost 48 hours to be sure) then simply sand it down smooth in stages. The repair is holding up beautifully so far. After all, if it can stand up to the pounding a Jet-Ski hull takes from an aggressive rider in salt water, I don't think there's much I can throw at it in an RV shower it can't withstand. Just sayin'...
