Help the Lion Brush His Teeth! (Parent Child Activity Book – Making Learning About Brushing Your Teeth Engaging and Fun for Toddlers Aged 2-4)

Every morning and night was always the same: my youngest daughter did not want to brush her teeth and we always had a fairly long "discussion." Keep in mind, it's in the morning when I have to go to work and at night when I'm completely exhausted and just want some peace and quiet. I know that's how a lot of my parent-friends feel. Probably most parents. But anyways, thanks to this book, I can at least relax a little more (okay, there's still bath time, getting dressed, etc., which takes an awfully long time, but at least my daughter brushes her teeth on her own much better now). In that regard, this book is a little lifesaver. The pictures are so pretty, and the book is interactive. I mean, on each page my little one can do something with the book. Sometimes she is supposed to tickle the lion, sometimes pet it (so that it calms down), sometimes squeeze the toothpaste tube or pull on an elephant's trunk - there's always something. This makes the book really re-readable without getting boring. The story is very simple and quickly told: The lion is hiding because he is embarrassed of his teeth. Your child has to find him in a search picture and gently get him to open his mouth on the following pages and then help him brush his teeth (a few tooth brushing techniques are also taught). Many other animals join in and in the end everyone is happy about the lion's beautiful white teeth, which the lion of course owes to the help of the reader (the child). At the end, the children are encouraged to brush their teeth with the help of their parents, so that they can have a great smile and healthy teeth. The sentences are kept short, the words simple and appropriate for children. Most of the time, I tell the story freely by now and embellish it a little more. In the beginning, I guided my daughter in the interactions and showed her how to stroke, press, clap (and so on) the book. Now she knows exactly what to do on each page. The idea of the book is really great and something completely different than the usual. And it saved me a lot of nerves. So, I totally recommend it. Got it for all my friends with kids from 1-3 years old.

Very cute and engaging book for my little grandkids. I love the artwork and the interactive story. Well done! I gave it 4 stars vs 5 because of the paper pages vs hard cardboard which is really what's needed for small children.

Love the book!!! we first read it at the dentist office and we decided to purchase it. Supper fun and interactive it does encourage kids to brush their teeth. The book came with no protection around but it wasn’t damaged thankfully. Love it I would say it’s a great gift for kids or if you need help getting a toddler to brush it might help.

Cute book. I drilled a hole in the back cover and attached yarn with a tooth brush on the other end. My boys really liked it!

This book has a lot of potential. Cute, interactive story. However, the pages are thin and the print quality is not great. It would be a keeper if it was a board book (especially with it being interactive) and the colors were brighter, images clearer/sharper for a kid's book. Would be great if it came with a real or durable paper toothbrush to use with the book too. For these reasons, unfortunately will be returning.

My 3 year old enjoys this book! He’s not a huge fan of brushing his teeth, but he loves helping the lion brush his. The book is cute, helpful for bed time routine.
