Do the top screws go into metal, or just the plastic?

The screw just goes into the plastic. The cup holder stays secure and works good!

Does the net come with it?

No. The net should already be there. It’s stock on the Jeep

Would this fit my 2022 jeep sport?

It should. I have a 2021 Jeep JLU and it fits the front doors. I you have a 4 door..there are some of the back doors as well.
