I’ve never felt as clean after a shower until I used this bar. I am now back to bars and dumping body washes. This product felt amazing as it exfoliated my skin and rinsed without leaving a film and my skin felt like it could breathe again. It has a gentle grittiness that aids in exfoliating your skin and has great scents which doesn’t overpower but manages to last throughout the day. By far the best bar and shower experience ever! Highly recommend this brand!

I love this soap bar primarily for it's exfoliating abilities and also for the scent oude wood! I am female, and this scent is perfect for me. No headaches for me. and I am very sensitive to scents. Yes, twelve dollars is a lot for one bar of soap. It does last longer than a normal bar. I live in a dry climate. This soap is a must during the winter season.

If you are like me and have been searching for a very gritty exfoliating bar of soap, look no further. I have tried a variety of other brands of exfoliating soap and have always felt that the abrasive material fell short of leaving my skin truly exfoliated. Enter the MARLOWE bar of soap. I was looking for an exfoliating bar that I could truly feel the grit work and this absolutely nailed it. Avoid this bar if you have overly sensitive skin, as this has an extraordinarily high abrasion level (which is exactly what I have been looking for). I can safely say this one tops them all in that category. The scent is also one I enjoy, as it is not too aggressive and has a rather nice earthly feel to it. Why the four stars? Simply put, the cost. At nearly $10 per bar of soap, even at 7oz versus your standard 4oz, this is one pricey product. Even on a subscription, I cannot find myself justifying the $8-$9 range. Granted, this soap does last a very long time compared to other bars of soap, I found myself hesitating on my next purchase of it. If this fell somewhere between the $6-$7 range, I could find myself justifying it given all of the positives above. All in all, if you can look past the high price, this is indeed an exfoliating bar of soap that smells great and delivers on what it promises.

I have searched and tried a lot of men’s soaps. Important for me is moisturizing, long lasting, value, exfoliation and the scent. I personally like to smell my soap on me at least a few hours after the shower. I’ll also add my favorites without exfoliation. I’ll give a 1-5 star for each category. Marlowe Exfoliating Bar “Fresh” Scent- 5 Scent lasting time - 4 Exfoliation- 5 Lather- 4 Moisturizer- 5 Long lasting bar-5 Marlowe made me feel exceptional out of the shower. It’s January and I didn’t use lotion afterwards. The smell is like a fresh, clean woodsy scent. The exfoliation is incredible and I have sensitive white pasty skin and it felt great. I wouldn’t use it on sensitive areas though but the smell and everything with this soap is perfect. Marlowe is my choice for an exfoliating soap. Good job, Marlowe. Baxter of California (twice as expensive as Marlowe) -Scent- 4.5 -Scent lasting time- 1 -Exfoliation- 5 -Lather-5 -Moisturizer- 4.5 -Long lasting bar-4.5 Baxter of California has a wonderful scent but the scent is gone after you step out of the shower. At $19 a bar they need to do better. Wonderful lather though and long lasting bar. Cremo -Scent-4 -Scent lasting time-1 -Exfoliation-4 -Lather-3.5 -Moisturizer-4 -Long lasting bar-3 Cremo has great and unique smells but they don’t last and the scent is gone as soon as you towel off. Cremo would have me coming back if their scents lasted longer. Method Men exfoliating sea & surf bar Scent-3 Scent lasting time-1 Exfoliation-2.5 Lather-2.5 Moisturizer-2 Long lasting bar-2 Method Men was a disappointment to me and I will not purchase again. Other soaps without exfoliation that I’ve tried. -Caswell-Massey has some awesome scents. I love Newport and Greenbriar. Triple milled and long lasting, but the problem I have is that they don’t moisturize my skin well. My skin feels tight after showering. My favorite non-exfoliation soap is Pre de Provence #63 soap on a rope. A long lasting masculine scent that moisturizes wonderfully. It has great lather and is quad milled for longevity. It also can double as a weapon. 🙂 I hope this helps your search.

My Son will now use nothing else to cleanse his body since I purchased this bar of MARLOWE Soap. He has dry skin & I’ve tried multiple body soaps & bar soaps to help with the dryness. I found this for men & gave it a try. I’m so glad I did. It’s a great size at 7 ounces. The perfect size for a man’s hand. He’s 15yo but has a man’s hand :) He loved it so much I had to give it a try even though I love my Dove. It’s wonderful & I see why he loves it so much. The pumice substance is great. It’s made of quality ingredients which makes it so awesome. Glycerin being one of them. Glycerin is great for the skin because it acts as a humectant, which is a substance that allows the skin to retain moisture. It can increase skin hydration, relieve dryness, and refresh the skin's surface. It's also an emollient, which means it can soften skin. That’s the best part of this soap. It leaves the skin moisturized & soft. My Son also has sensitive skin & this is very soothing. The scent is subtle. It’s a quality soap & well worth the cost. I have it on my subscribe & save list so I save a little & order at my convenience which is nice. I don’t think the man in your life will be disappointed! I’ll continue to order again & again even though a 7 ounce bar will last some time. I highly recommend this soap. One more thing I love how this company donates 1 bar of soap for every bar sold. Now that’s awesome!!

Expensive bar of soap. I looked at the picture and thought I was getting 2 but I should have read the add because I only got 1 so it was a very expensive single bar of soap but it did smell great and work great but due to the price it might be something I only buy once a month or so.

Not sure why some say this is like sand paper. It does what its supposed to, scrubs your skin. Lovely earthy smell. And I am female so naturally my skin is more sensitive than a male and still live this. I immediately purchased a 2nd bar.

I thought this soap was rather nice. It lathered just fine, smells excellent and has a slightly cinnamon sort of note to it. It doesn’t leave the body feeling oily and doesn’t dry out skin either which is good! The only complaint I have is how long the bar lasts compared to its price. I’m pretty sure this bar is an American product, but the bar only lasts maybe a month? Probably less depending how much one showers. I shower every day during the week since I am a welder and need to. Continuous use like this, it lasted just about a month. It would be nice if it either lasted longer (a thicker bar) or perhaps they added a second bar considering its high price point. I would recommend it for the scent and clean skin feeling, however the price is steep for the length of use you get out of the bar.

I ordered this because of the reviews and it is an essential part of my bathroom regime. I use this in addition to my standard bar soap so I have two in the shower. I use this first as a scrub and then I use a different bar of soap to clean. It's great at especially washing y feet and has a mile fragrance that's not overpowering. Simply a men's grooming essential!

Love this soap. Issue is with Amazon fulfilment in that it was shipped in a none bubble wrap envelope and it was rather bashed. Don’t want a refund or replacement, this is just feedback to the seller.
