Pioneer GM-D8701 Class D Mono Amplifier with Wired Bass Boost Remote

I paired this with a DS18 12" select entry level subwoofer. I also built a custom console box for the sub and the amplifier for my single cab Chevy 1500 truck. This amplifier is an amazing deal for the money and delivers clean solid power to this sub. I used a true 4 gauge wiring kit and am only running it at a 4 ohm load. Amp runs cool even when its dropping sustained low notes down to 37 hz. No overheating and no clipping. I would be afraid to run this amp at the underated 500 watt 2ohm load in fear that the sub would shake my truck apart. But this review is for the amp. As long as you match the rms rating of your speaker to this amplifier you will not be dissapointed. This amp performs way better than i expected and exceeds its printed rms ratings. Also keep in mind that if your subwoofer is rated at 250-300 watts rms this amp will push it flawlessly without risk of damage to the woofer when the gain is properly set. You can easily power 2 subs with this amplifier as long as your rms rating for the sub and or amp do not exceed or fall short of their rms ratings. For $130 you will not find a more versatile, powerfull, or clean sound from an amp of this class. Update: 2/24/20 I did upgrade my subwoofer to get the 500watts @2ohms from this amp. This amp truely is a powerhouse with a very small footprint. New sub is an American bass xd1244. This combination is way more than i could have asked for and again this amp perfoms flawlessly and stays cool even under the 2ohm load. Hasnt clipped or shut down even after running after literal hours of constant low tone and hard hitting bass. Final update 3/2/20 After a month of using this amp with my american bass sub, it is an absolute beast. I cannot stress enough how good and flawless this amp has performed. After my subwoofers breakin period i have found myself turning the sub down because of how hard and low it hits. Maybe im just gettin old but regardless, this amp sub combo is the perfect hard and low hitting sound that ive been looking for. Will add a video shortly.

HAD THIS AMP IN TOTALLED CAR INS NEVER LET ME GET IT BACK,SO BOUGHT 1 FOR REAR OF CURRENT NEW CAR,WORKS FINE LOUND N CLEAN SOUND INTO 2 ALPINE SPR 6X8 COAXIALS

This amp is wonderful. Hook it up to your active tweeters. Clear A/B circuits with low distortion. Not really a good bass amp, but it could do it. Best used where clarity matters more than volume.

Excellent quality amp. Produce very deep bass.
