Grin BY Grin Bread Bags, My One Year Review
Spoiler alert I love these bags! I do a fair amount of home sourdough bread baking. It's just my wife and I as a rule so I normally bake two loaves every seven to ten days, but truthfully it just depends on how quickly we eat the bread. Sometimes, two loaves will last a couple of weeks. Anyway, I always bake two loaves at a time since it's a couple of days process. One is usually unbleached white flour or whole wheat, and the second loaf is usually a seeded Rye. To keep them fresh, for years I reused plastic Dave’s bread bags, but honestly my loaves are big enough to make that a challenge. The bags were barely large enough. So I began looking for something better. At first I tried muslin bags, which while they are great for transporting bread, they are useless for keeping it fresh. The muslin being extremely porous, the bread dries out and gets stale very quickly. Luckily I found the Grin By Grin bags. They come as a pair which is perfect for my needs. Also, being different colors ivory and blue I can easily distinguish one loaf from the other. I have used these bags continuously for about 13 months and they are great! Pros: They are very well made and sturdy. I haven’t had a single issue in that regard. Complaints I’ve read about weak seams or zippers are definitely not true for me. They breath, but are not extremely porous, so they keep my bread fresh without it getting stale or drying out. They are large. In a couple of my pictures you can see that I easily fit two loaves onto a single bag. I don’t do that, but I wanted to show it’s possible. The zipper is really not necessary as it’s really the rolling and buckling the end of the bag that seals it. I say that because a few of the complaints I read regarded the zipper failing. They claim to be machine washable, but I have not found it necessary and I don’t think I’d risk it. It’s so easy to shake out the crumbs and I’ve even turned them inside out at least once and wet wiped them. I’ve not had my bread mold in them and I’ve kept bread in them for up to two weeks. That said, I don’t even bag my bread until it’s 24 hours old and I refrigerate my bread after I bag it. Occasionally, if I know it will be a while before we consume it, I will freeze it. These bags are great for either. I have seen a few complaints of moisture build up in the bags and mold occurring. I have experienced neither. I believe my success is because I never bag my bread until the day after it’s been baked and after that, I store it in the refrigerator. Cons: None!

Best bread Bag
Love it! We just started making homemade bread and this works great! I’ve had the loaf in the bag for 3 days so far and it’s still moist and fresh!! Great product!

Buy these, not ziplock bags, you'll save money
Why did you pick this product vs others?: These have been by far the best bread bags. Have you ever used. It keeps our bread from drying out, it seems like it lasts a decent amount of time. I was tired of spending money on disposable ziplock bags. I'm very happy with this purchase and recommend it to anybody who does a lot of bread baking. I really like how you can zip it up. Roll it and snap it. You don't have to do this, but we like to. Heavy duty material. It seems to last a long time. I'm very easy to clean.

no warm food
amazing but be careful of putting anything warm inside. it will cause condensation which may lead to mold.

Great solution for baked goods
Like most of the world, I have been making more things from scratch. Storage of "leftovers " has been an issue though. If you put it in the fridge, everything dries out very fast. So you try the zip lock bags and things get wet and even moldy. Then I tried the linen bags - and crust lovers love that it stays crusty - but it does dry out much more quickly. This bag is like a hybrid. It has lining that holds in moisture- but the zipper still allows it to breathe a little. My artisan bread stayed good for 3 days (and then it was all gone). I put blueberry muffins in yesterday (covered over and under with paper towels). They felt a little damp - but not sticky - and I was told they tasted great. I love that they're washable. They look cute - are a great size - and the roll and clip feature means the same bag works for smaller items as well. Bonus that it's made from recycled materials.

Perfect!!
My husband just mastered sourdough bread! So when I started looking for these, I liked everything that the description had to say, and it definitely does what it says! Great gift for a bread maker!

Roomy and easy to close, but bread still gets moldy
I really wanted to like these bags. They are big and fit a loaf of round sourdough bread well! However, even with zipping and rolling up the bag, my bread got moldy within a few days. I like that you can wash them in the washing machine and that they have both a zip and roll closure, but I expected my bread to last a little longer in them.

I’ve been using these for about 11 months and couldn’t be happier. I bake sourdough a few times a week, and these bags keep my loaves fresh for up to a week. I sometimes add a piece of paper towel inside to help absorb moisture, and it works perfectly. They also freeze beautifully — my bread always tastes just as fresh when thawed. I’ve started buying them as gifts for my sourdough-baking friends, and everyone loves them.

I bought these as a Father's Day gift and my father loves them! They get used all the time. They keep the bread fresh and are a great size for larger loaves.

Each week I buy artisan made sour dough bread that is till warm when I pick it up. I pay $8/per loaf and buy 3 to 4 loafs per week. I usually freeze 3 loafs and thaw them out as I need them. These bags are excellent in the freezer and in the bread box. They keep the bread fresh, even the end of the loaf after a slice is still soft, fresh and enjoyable. I took it to my bakery and they were amazed by the bags quality. Highly recommend!
